Quote:As the U.S. government shutdown continues into day 24 — the longest in history — opposition from affected workers is escalating. At the same time, the White House Chief Economic Adviser Kevin Hassett suggested that the nearly 800,000 furloughed workers are “better off” on what he calls an extended vacation. Others disagree.

Trump is like the Grinch who stole Christmas. Playing with people's lives and giving them the middle finger. Merry Christmas. Hope you didn't spend all your money on Christmas gifts or travel. No pay checks for you.

Wait until the airports shutdown.

It's the Nancy and Chuck shutdown......and they went on vacation with lobbyists to Puerto Rico! Shows their level of caring!!
Yes, it is too bad that the Demoncrats are playing politics with these workers lives and all of our lives by refusing to secure our borders and allowing people with no investment in the United State's future sponge off us.
Most Americans blame Trump.

The airports are already a mess. If you don't have pre-check in benefits, you're screwed. I told my brother (who currently is in Charleston, SC having flown there yesterday) to tip the TSA folks who are working for free currently on his way home tomorrow. It's probably not legal to do so but I think it's a worthy time for them to make an exception.

.....and lots of Americans blame Congress for being a do nothing organization.
It's almost as if Democrats are putting illegals over federal workers...
Those TSA workers need to contact their congress person and tell them to fund border security. The border patrol workers are showing up to work unpaid and have let their feelings be known on the issue.

That's because they are.......politics over workers. Truth is -Chuck and Nancy could care less. It's all about scoring a political victory and they'll side with foreigners over Americans all day long if it means a political win...............
And 500-600 more are on their way from Honduras to rush the border. Manufactured crisis.
Trump is taking a beating, politically. The problem is most Americans do not want a wall, so shutting down the government in order to fulfill a campaign promise supported by only 35% of the country is politically moronic.

It doesn't matter. Chuck and Nancy can end it.
This should be the PERFECT time to do a little introspection and find out which of these positions are REALLY "essential" and which ones can be eliminated.

If you ain't been missed yet, you probably ain't needed.

Just keep it shut down. When "duh yoon-yuns" for these "workers" start leaning on the lefties, maybe they'll be willing to deal.
Criticizing the government shutdown and 800,000 non-essential government workers not getting paid is going over like a lead balloon.

But continue, please, about haw Toneshia at TSA and Issac at Interior deserve taxpayer dollars at the expense of a secure border. Go on! It's a great look for Democrats......
Luckily our airport here in JAX is small so no big deal. But man, I have to come back from LA in a week. That will probably suck.

You wont have a problem flying in or out or a Republican precint. The people that work there will show up for work as will the border patrol agents.

It's not moronic because those of us that want that wall built (supposedly only 35%) really want it built and will be deciding in a little under two years whether or not to vote for Trump again. The vast majority of those federal workers aren't Trump voters to begin with and most everyone else will barely remember this a week after it's solved.

I went to LA last year and flew into SNA via DFW. It was $30 more round trip than flying into LAX and it was worth every penny... just a breeze. In my rental car and out in 15 minutes and 15 minutes getting through security on the way back. There is also a small airport in Long Beach, but I would have had to take an extra flight to get there so I opted for SNA. Unless you are ultimately going trans-Pacific, if you fly into LAX, you are doing it wrong.

1. Who cares what political party the impacted workers support. Their livelihoods are being sacrificed for a political campaign slogan.

2. 35% won’t win in 2020.

3. Ex Presidents can be indicted.

While just a hypothesis, I don't think most people that don't want the wall think it is worth shutting down the government over. I mean, if your opposition to the wall is simply that you don't think it will work, does it really make a difference whether or not it is built. Aside from democratic strategists and consultants, I would think most of these people don't want caravans of illegals coming here.
