How does he fix the 3 point issue? This team has had issues picking up the matchup zone.

he needs to get it in his head that this isn't the GCL and conceding 3pt shots doesnt work

Keep working at it. A lot of lineups learning to play together and they aren't great in their rotations yet. They've still been s top 20 defense and have room to improve. Tulsa hit threes but could get nothing in the paint.

we triple teamed igbanu multiple times. they had 4 good 3 point shooters.

jefferies is 38%
horne is 36%
joiner is 45%
scott is 30% (35% after the game and 38% for his career)

The team was sicker than snot, the opponents shot 9-11 behind the arc in the 2nd half, and were on a 15 game home win streak and yet ....UC pulled out the win. People here can whine all they want, but it was a big win under tough circumstances.

You keep working and try to improve your rotation consistency. Last year we were 7th nationally 3 point defense because they understood where help should come from and how to rotate and recover. Also clark and Evans were exceptional defenders. This year they are still really good on defense in most areas but rotations aren't as good and their 3 point d has suffered. Hopefully they'll figure it out. If they do they can be a top 10 type defense.

Why would they? When all of the open 3s are going in, no need to change it up.

Those dudes perversely want UC to lose. They believe that Cronin sucks and they'd rather be proven right about that than root for and enjoy their team.

They took 22 shots from inside the arc... they made 4

It’s a team that was shooting 30% for the year from the 3 pt. arc. What would you do? Run them off the line like they were the Golden State Warriors? A team gets hot once in awhile not much you can do about it. Our defense is not the problem.

When you only have up .9 points per possession for the game despite the great three point shooting maybe that's the right decision

Their 3 point defense is why they aren't elite on that end right now but they are great in every other respect on defense and are a top 20 defense nationally despite 3 point issues.

We are 7th in scoring defense and 31st in field goal percentage defense. I agree our 3 pt defense percentage is meh at 196. But we are consistently one of the better defensive and rebounding teams in the country year after year.

It’s the defensive philosophy that has won a lot of games for us the last several years.

If we need to get better somewhere its scoring baskets to compliment that defense. If you are gonna give up 3’s better be able to splash a few.

Mark has the answers so Mick should hire him.
