Really? 7 away games? That's kind of sad but very telling. I guess that's one way of avoiding a home game on Thanksgiving. 04-cheers

Not that it helps USM financially but at least there are a couple road games that "regional" fans can attend. The Troy game is easy for those in south Alabama as well as the Florida panhandle while the La Tech game is another game for those in north Louisiana as well as west/southwestern part of the state to attend. I realize we are talking about a couple hundred max probably but it beats going to both the Florida schools along with Charlotte and ODU.

That goodness we scheduled Alcorn. May get our average attendance over 15k.
7 away games happens, of course, in a year where we should be as good as we have been in at least a decade.

However, it also sets up for big rewards if we sneak up on a few folks.

I still remember Favor's senior year, we beat Bama and Auburn (away of course) and lost to Georgia (our game winning FG CAREENED off the goal post), MSUcks and Va Tech (all on road) by 9 points combined, I believe. We had great pub for all of that....

I remember that year. I was at the Bama game. If my memory serves me correctly (and admittedly, it may not), that was the year Farve was in the wreck and had missed most of Fall camp. It was about 115 degrees on the field and for the most part, Farve only played every other series. I believe our fieldgoal kicker made a 52 yard fieldgoal to win the game. I can't remember the Bama QB but they called him "magic man" (at least the fans around me did). Every time we scored, the Bama fan close to me would turn around and say to me - "That's okay, it's magic man's turn" as he came onto the field. By the end of the game he had gotten really quiet and quit turning around.

But EB - I'm not really counting on upsetting Bama next year. 07-coffee3

You mean since 2011? Less than a decade, but we get it.

As you said, we got a lot of pub for playing Bama, Auburn, Georgia, Va Tech and MSU (all on the road) but now people suddenly cry about playing those games and we suck more than ever. See the connection? We SHOULD play and NEED to play those type games, not these **** games against these **** teams in **** CUSA.

Go Independent! We played 3 home games that year. We would be much better off with 4-5 home games a year if we played legit teams with name recognition and were playing on "real" TV against these real teams than this garbage CUSA schedule. Sheesh, I just have to run that rant a few times a year to feel better.

This coming year will be our best chance to make a run at the CrapUSA title in a while. I think we will be competitive in every game except Bama.
