That may be true, but Alabama has strong football connections otherwise. All Bowden sons were born while Bobby coached at UWVA before moving to FSU, Jimbo Fisher grew up there before coming to play QB at Samford and Nick Saban (famous Irondale M-B dealer) grew up there as well.
