Home Conference game tonight, 6PM against the La Tech gals. We are gonna try to make it. Might be a good game for a BlazerTalk crowd!

Once again...they are NOT the "Lady Blazers." They are the UAB women's basketball team. They are Blazers just like the football, soccer and baseball teams.

It could be worse... Lady Dogs... So many ways to take that one, but not in today's society.

"Lady _________" - according to the university's name is a common terminology that probably is not officially designated by the Athletic Department. It is just commonly applied usage.

Another way to look at it is the old adage -- "Call me anything you like,but don't call me late for supper".

for those that want to watch, the Lady Blazers game is on ESPN+

and the men's game is on al jazeera

There are a lot of commonly applied names that are incorrect.

Don’t complain about Alabama-Birmingham if you are going to call them Lady Blazers. Both are incorrect

Sheesh,,, Didnt intend to start a conflagration on here. I'll be watching the UAB Women's Basketball team tonight,,, is that OK to say and do??

Fun fact, the LA Tech Women's team are actually the Lady Techsters, because the first coach thought that "Lady Bulldogs" was way too un-feminine

LT takes the 1 point lead with just over 1 minute left
LT hits 2 FTs with 0:20 left
UAB Misses the 3 badly, game over

tough loss.We tried to overpass in some key situations, passing up open shots and turning it over instead.

Tough loss when we were up 9 with 5 mins left. There goes our chance at being ranked. Now just have to win the conference championship and dance.

UAB women’s athletics used to be officially referred to as the Lady Blazers also, which was common for most every college program. Not sure when the change was made but I think it was probably in the ‘90’s or early 2000’s.
