It's a great way to get your friends a raise!
Candidate, not *finalist.* Other reporting has shown Rod Carey is probably the guy: http://www.philly.com/college-sports/rod...er+Account
This will not drag out long, I would guess that Temple will name the HC today or tomorrow.
Indeed
Temple: Wisconsin offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Joe Rudolph has interviewed for the Temple head job, tweets Bruce Feldman. Local reports also state Northern Illinois head coach Rod Carey has also interviewed for the job.

Really difficult situation for MAC teams. I know James Madison lost their coach to East Carolina Mike Houston who I really liked as a potential replacement if CC left. Charlotte hired their HC at a salary of $625k, one of their candidates was a Clemson asst who make over 800k. Many of the MAC football programs have taken maybe not the candidate they want but the candidate they can afford. With all our budget woes one wonders how we will be afford to replace CC or Murphy if they leave or get fired. As far as CC we should look again at the FCS heading coaching ranks like we did with CC. I think D2 is too big of a jump, recall how CC struggled his first two years with his FCS heavy staffing, most of his staff today has FBS experience. I love to see an internal current candidate take the job, but who is qualified and they can get a a bigger pay day going with CC. Just some random thoughts on the situation.
I think CC's overall record at EMU is 22-40? Hard to convince your alums and those who pony up the $$$. Temple has a lot of buyout money in their pockets after the previous coaches, rumor is they would offer a salary in excess of $2 million a year. I guess the other issue is the recruiting rankings while here at CC have been average around 9th in the MAC. Again, hard to convince your fans and alums if you spend the $$$ vs someone like PJ Fleck. I'm fine with the great job CC is doing here and recruiting rankings are recruiting rankings, we know he build and coach up a team. Next year if we go bowling and win the MAC West he and his staff will get lots more zeros behind their salaries.
That's not really a rumor. I think Diaz was set to make $2.5M a year. Collins made $2M a year. Rhule's last salary was about $2.5M and we were prepared to give him $3M+.

Wow. NIU fans would trade 2 Careys for one Creighton...

Thank God, leave our CC alone.
1st time. Not sure about 2nd.
Good news in (2) fronts. Not only does Temple not get CC but maybe NIU has enough of a setback that EMU can finally beat them in 2019.
Congrats to Coach Carey. In Ypsilanti we all can exhale now.

I think runner up was Wiscy's OC.
I kinda wanted to beat Rod Carey for once. This bugs me. I hope we play them in the next few years.
