Congratulations to CLF, his coaching staff and our players for an excellent season that earned a #24 ranking in the final AP poll. The 'Cats are well positioned for a preseason ranking and an exciting 2019 season.

"Go on. I dare you. I dare you to doubt me. Just wait til next year..."
Having 4 and 5 loss teams in the top 20 is a freaking joke (9-5 Northwestern is #21). This infatuation with tha conference patch on the jersey needs to stop. Penn State #17? Did they beat anyone with a pulse this year?

Appy State?
Very impressive!
Of course ESPN (Mark Shlabach) does not have UC in the "too early top 25" for 2109.

Screw this guy, only thing matters is what the AP voters think at the start of next year.... thump UCLA and go north and beat or play $OSU tough the rankings will take care of themselves. 04-cheers

It'd be nice to be getting a good amount of votes to start next year. If that happens, beating UCLA could get them ranked.
The USA Today Early Preseason Poll also does not include UC.

Sometimes it pays to fly under the radar. Folks don't take you seriously until mid-way through the fourth quarter, and by then, it's too late for them to adjust.
I'm pretty sure we went 4-8 the last time we were ranked in the pre-season, so I'm happy with being just off the radar, returning all but one skill position player that touched a ball this season, 4 of our top 6 tacklers, 4/5 DBs, and bringing in another solid recruiting class.

As long as we can figure out the lines (I'm way more confident about DL with Strip coaching than OL), we'll be in the Top 25 at some point next year. If Fields gets a waiver, I doubt we'll beat OSU, but every other game on the schedule is more than winable, mainly because we have our two hardest conference games (Temple and UCF) at home.
Stewart Mandel and The Athletic are giving us some love.. we squeek in and take the last spot in their way too early 2019 top 25.

ahh, but what all these folks don't know is the beast that is about to be unleashed at TE: Josh Whyle!

Holy ****, he's 6'7" now? And we still have Deguara for another year. We are going to be beastly at tight end.
Congrats to the team and coaching staff! Onto 2019.

And don't forget Leonard Taylor in there as well. On top of the three mentioned, we also have Labelle and Huber back next year. Obviously not all 5 guys can play (much) so I see a ton of competition this offseason. Although we could have 2 of them on the field much of the time.
This is a major accomplishment for the team. To have it cemented that we finished the 2018 season ranked in the top 25 is a big accomplishment. Very proud of what this team achieved.
I expect to win at OSU next year. Everything's lined up in our favor: new osu coach, new osu qb, osu trying to rebuild their worst defense this century plus CLF's personal motivation. I expect a win, and anything less than the closest of losses will be a huge disappointment. If we're truly P6, we need to have P6 expectations.
We have still never started a season ranked. That trend will continue.

I'm not sure where we are at the point where should expect to go into a top 5 team's stadium and win. It's extremely rare for that to happen to OSU in a non-conference game, or even a conference game quite frankly over the better part of the past decade.

I obviously hope we win. And I'd certainly be upset if the game isn't competitive. But I'm not ready to expect a win at OSU.
