Might take a few recruiting classes to get the personel needed.

FWIW, Wilder said he believed the personnel fit it, which is why they made the switch.

My concern would be having a nose tackle. I think the reamining guys will be fine. The edge guys will have to go in coverage occasionally.
In basketball mode so when I saw this, I was like "well kudos to JJ if he can pull it off but eventually the refs will get wise to it"
I like this move since we lose so much up front and with Garner really coming on last year at LB this makes a lot of sense.

We have five JUCO defensive linemen coming in and three JUCO true LBs.
We return something like ten D Linemen and nine LBs. (those numbers will likely change)

In a 3-4, some of the Linebackers and Defensive ends will be interchangeable and likely situational.
We should have plenty of depth and talent both at LB and down lineman.

The NT position will be interesting with maybe one of the JUCOs, Ramos, Bibby or Hehl moving to that position.

One thing we may be understating is the effect of the new S&C. This could have a substantial impact across the board, including on the offense.
Now, if we can just let Scott pick the QB 05-stirthepot, I can move from considering next season a potential abject disaster to becoming guardedly optimistic.
04-cheers
No surprise we're going with a 3-4 defense. Wilder said after the Rice game we needed to move to a 3-4 going forward.
