The Good Gals travel up to UD to open the CAA schedule against a Sick Chickens squad who is 5-7 on the season and coming off a home win over St. Joe's.

JMU holds a 24-13 all-time series lead spurred mainly by the current 12-game winning streak the Dukes have enjoyed. The Dukes have swept the season series each of the past 5 seasons and have a couple of CAAT wins over UD as well since 2014.

UD only has 1 player averaging scoring in double digits and that is 5'7" Jr. Guard, Abby Gonzales (barely, at 10.6 ppg). She is the only team member who has started each of their 12 games to date.

They have had a strange schedule so far. They played their first 8 games away from home before 4 straight at home. Starting with JMU, they actually play their first 3 CAA games at home as well for a long 7-game home stand that will last over a month.

No question this is a game the Dukes should win. It won't be easy though. JMU got out of Newark with a 3-pt victory a season ago. UD made it to the semifinals of the CAAT last year after going 11-7 in the CAA. They lost to Drexel by 5 in the semi's.

If the Good Gals look ahead to Sunday's big game at Drexel, UD could make them pay.

This game is scheduled to be streamed live via UD's YouTube channel... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4Ocz-mIO7I

Go Dukes!

I hope you enjoy your trip to the Bob. It's been a couple of years since I have been there, but I found the folks there to be friendly (for the most part) and the concessions outstanding. Our Aramark staff could learn a lesson or two from them...

I'll be watching - this should be a game we win pretty easily but this arena tends to give our team fits.

Safe travels!!
Haven't caught a game at the Bob yet so looking forward to it. Were going to go a few years ago but there was a bad ice storm the day of the game and driving was treacherous so we watched it on TV.

Delaware yesterday announced 10 MBB and WBB games will be televised... https://bluehens.com/news/2019/1/2/mens-...eason.aspx

It advises (as does JMU Sports official page via the WBB schedule) that NBC Sports Philadelphia will televise tomorrow night's Dukes WBB game at UD. Also, SportsNet NY & COZI TV. It shows NBC Sports Washington, though when looking at Friday 7pm TV listings the Washington Wizards are on the main NBC-SW channel and the Washington Capitals are live on the NBC-SW Plus channel so doubting the JMU-UD game will be on NBC-SW tomorrow night (unless there are multiple alternate channels for NBC-SW).

The JMU MBB game on Jan 17 at UD is included in the release linked above to be televised. We'll see...
Delaware dresses only 10 players with Enabosi being out for the year (ACL). The player I was thinking of earlier was a fairly big-time recruit from Texas, Lolo Davenport, who had originally committed to Texas and then surprised everyone by reopening her recruitment and committing to Delaware. She's supposed to be pretty good. She's from Texas, which is what made me wonder why Delaware. Sounds like they are having some trouble getting organized without Enabosi.

Does anyone know anything further about Bellerand?

Davenport is also injured and will not play this year.
Still wondering what is going on with Bre. Telecast was too small from RMU to see if she was on the bench of not.

Hoping to see the Good Gals get the CAA schedule off to a good start tonight. Go Dukes!
Dukes up 39-21 at the half. Devon leads all scorers with 14 points, Kayla has 8 rebounds and Logan has 5 assists. For those you concerned about Bre, she has a couple of minutes and looks just fine.

Delaware is not anywhere near the Delaware of old. Hope Sean can motivate the ladies to keep the pedal pushed the floor and win this one big.
I wish we would use YouTube. Solid dependable stream. Also, as homer-y as he is, I love the Delaware old school play by play guy. Waiting for him to tell me about the local monster truck show on Sunday SUNDAY SUNDAYYYYY.
He does have a 1950’s announcer vibe with his inflection.
Good Gals expand their lead to 53-27 after three quarters. Everyone is playing tonight and playing well. Devon now has 18 points and Kamiah and Jackie have 10. Kayla has 15 rebounds and Devon has 10.

Even though the announcers are very homer-y, they have also both been very complementary of JMU and the individual players. Enjoyable to listen to for the most part.
Final score is JMU 68, Delaware 43. Solid solid game for the ladies.....great way to begin conference play. Now it's off to the dreaded Drexel for a Sunday afternoon tilt.
Our women's team is putting our other basketball 'program' to shame. These ladies bust their butt and deserve even more fan support. They play like a team and a good team. I thought they made some really nice interior passes to open players.
Delaware is a bad team right now, but JMU proved why we should be at the top of the CAA.
I thought the Good Gals looked a bit rusty last night, but that was a heckuva game from Devon!! Wowzers! Congrats to her! Kayla and Logan looked pretty good too, as did Kamiah. The bench looked like, well, the bench. But it was nice to see Bellerand out there and get the questions answered. Welcome back, Bre!
