Didnt think the rumors were serious. Is this a first, where a P5 level program coach leaves for a G5 level program? Maybe Holgs buys into the idea of a P6, lol.
Was hoping he would be at WV for a long time as he seems to be an average coach. He may do well in the AAC though.
A big blow to the reputation of the Big 12 or just West Virginia?
Tommy tuberville from Texas tech to Cincinnati?

Good point. So it's the Big XII to AAC pipeline then?

That now makes 5 games for NC State next year against a new head coach - ECU, WVa, GT, Louis, and UNC-Ch
It appears he had three years left on his contract, if the site I found was correct. I read he asked for an extension and WVU rebuffed him. If that's the case WVU basically told him to walk, which makes more sense in the grand scheme of why a coach would leave the P5 for G5.
So ... Neal Brown to WVU?

Or Luke Fickell ...

Or can they poach someone like Dave Clauson at Wake?

ORRRR ... will they make a HUGE mistake, and dust off ole Rich Rod again?

Perhaps Nick Saban wants a challenge?

They will likely have to pull from the G5 ranks. Most P5 coaches will avoid that pressure cooker since WV fans think they should be double digits wins every season. Only a handful of programs can pull that off.
Rich Rod. C'monnnnnnnnn. He just finished buying his Ole Miss wardrobe too.
Rich Rod to WVU, Al Golden to Temple, and Steve Lavin to UCLA! The boys are back in towwwwn!!
Neal Brown seems like a good get to me for WV. Perhaps the B12 should do WV a solid & bring in UCF & Cincinnati. Get them off of their island & open up more recruiting grounds for them. Without them I think WV will struggle.

WVU fans were not happy with Holgorson. Rumor was he was not extended after he asked...writing was on the wall then. Good move for him...great chance to get Houston back among the "G5" elite. Houston I consider a great job...boosters, large school and a ton of recruits less a tank of gas away.
