Along with Gumps pimping Clark.
Kiffin should tell them to pound sand and keep building his program. Certain Gumps pray each night Clark will leave as well as a couple in our AD.
If only he stayed for a couple seasons so we can face him in '20, but the damage has been done.

...agreed. I think the U isn't what it once was... honestly, UCF/USF, and even FAU/FIU have been slicing into their recruiting (although they at one time were bringing in folks from everywhere, but that's not the case anymore either, I guess). Another name floated is Dino Babers, which would probably work out well... I think Cristobal is locked in at Oregon, or SHOULD be, with their recruiting class...

Most importantly, I also want to go up against the Fighting Kiffins in a few years... 04-rock
...and not to turn this into a 'coaching carousel' thread, but um, too late for that I guess - Applewhite is out at Houston. I guess all coaching 'vacancies' might affect us, at least in our assistants... always a iffy time of year...
Christobal would have to be nuts to leave Oregon.

Butch Davis and Manny Diaz sound more reasonable, and I doubt that Diaz has signed anything with Temple yet.

Kiffin? Who knows?

The financial ability of private universities to compete for recruits with large public universities may be at a limit with present coaching salaries in many millions and athletes getting used to programs annually spending hundreds of thousands on their daily amenities. Before Howard Schnelenberger resurrected the Miami program, they had moved many of their games to Friday nights and considered terminating the whole football program. Only a few of their players then were from Florida with most from the northeast frigid areas. Miami is not another Notre Dame or Stanford - it is more like a Vandy or Wake Forest.

I grew up a fan of the U in the 70s and 80s. They have serious issues their administration won't address and UCF has passed them.

Winning is hard.
The U is probably still recruiting very well.
Not sure UCF has passed them
Manny Diaz is the new coach after being the new Temple coach (for a few days). Not joking.
