How much disparity do you really have between the MVC and the MAC?

There is far less disparity between MVC and MAC than between the MAC and the SEC and BIG 10. NDSU cannot get a BIG 10 team to schedule them, they are that good. They would be at the very top of the MAC, and they have a far better game atmosphere than any MAC school. They average nearly 20,000 per game

It's just depressing when you play your home opener against ISU, and it's one of our few home games for the entire year. Seems like our fans are satisfied with it though. I thought when Frazier said FCS route is where he wanted to go that he would get some resistance from fans. That is obviously not the case. Heck the way NIU is trajecting under Carey, I may have to concede FCS does make sense. I have pretty much given up. One advantage is that it would allow more resources and fan focus to go to basketball, which in the long run is probably more sustainable

Frazier never said anything about NIU in the FCS, what planet do you live on?

He did actually, he said he wanted a playoff system to break away from the P5s, with a lower division
That’s misleading to say he wants to drop down to FCS. He wants NIU to stay with the Group of 5 where it is currently.

You are essentially creating a subdivision though, that is not FBS. Ive conceded that is where this is headed, you have ADs in the MAC not wanting to grow, you have the ESPN deal completely decimating fan bases, we brought this on ourselves and I am resigned to the fate now. Feels like you are swimming against the current this day and age to want good things for the MAC. So many opposing forces in high positions at play.

That "playoff" mentioned by Frazier is just an FBS-G5-member tourney, and nothing more than a pipe dream. If "we" broke away to do that, sounds like it would create absolutely nothing new, or perhaps a new, "more official" designation in between the FCS and P5. In neither case does an FCS patch end up on a glorious cardinal and black NIU jersey. Relax Francis.

Mentioning a made up "FCS" move in a "G5" chatroom is like screaming "fire" and "masturbator" at the same time in a crowded theater. Resolve to spew less gloom and doom in 2019 please......
If we did a group 5 playoff it would in effect create another level.

Thats like being sort of pregnant, you are either FBS or you are not

Trust me it pains me to be doom and gloom because I was once accused of being an annoying "homer and optimist" It just breaks me to see the direction NIU football and the MAC as a whole is heading. And all, self-inflicted wounds

I have nothing against playing Illinois State, it just is tougher considering back drop of having only 2 or 3 home games a year people can attend. Kind of a gut punch when 1 of those 3 is against Illinois State. I'm going to use my season ticket funds to plan a road trip to one of the non conference games this year. That seems to be the message NiU and the MAC is giving us anyway in that home games and home game support doesn't matter. Trying to decide between Vandy and Nebraska

There’s some good places to visit for away games this year. Nebraska for game day experience and Vandy for the nightlife and after game fun. You Could go to Broadway street and catch some great live music. I’ll be going to the Utah game this year. Anyone making that trip?

Will be in Utah again this year (trip to Provo to see BYU was amazing) and will be in Nashville. Both trips with friends/family. Saving Nebraska for I believe 2021. Great road trip opportunities these last few years for sure.
Considering going to Vanderbilt. Absolutely a terrific city to vist, but, the game being on Friday makes it more complicated.

That’s not what he said. His idea was to create a G5 playoff to create an automatic qualifier to the FBS playoff because the current system will never allow a G5 into the playoff. You never allow facts to get in the way of your agenda.

I don't recall the part about the G5 playoff winner getting an AQ for the FBS playoff. I don't even see how that would work, as that would be a lot of games.

I got the impression it was just a separate G5 playoff.

Dude....wtf are you talking about? NIU has played an FCS opponent nearly every year at home for decades. This is nothing new. So once again making sh*t up again and stirring the pot like a little 13 year old girl.

Here’s how your usual BS logic sounds MD.....NIU played FCS Tennessee Tech at home in 2003. Looks like Joe Novak wanted the huskies to go to FCS!!!!

I already made reservations in Utah for next year. It is driving distance for us.
