The espn guys during the bowl broadcast mentioned White could actually have 3 yrs of eligibility remaining. Is that even possible? I'd hate to see him another 3 yrs as our starter. I was kind of glad this would be his final season but guess not.
He will get better every year we have him.

Yep, this was in essences his first college year.
Maybe someone can convince him to transfer to Blue Mountain State to play with his twin...

personally, I don't think White is near as bad as all the criticism seems to indicate.

at the very least he would be the best backup qb we have had in a very long time.

Nope

He had 3 years left when he enrolled. He has used one this year. He has 2 left.
He was at ASU for 2 years, hes redshirt and his freshman season.

Correct.
The guys got a year under his belt, he was basically a freshman, who knows he could be much better that last year. Not sure about a third year I thought it was only 2.
I thought he had 2 years of eligibility. No wonder that QB transferred
I think he can hardship for that third year.

You are right. I just checked his bio and it says he could have 3 years of eligibility.
He played his first year (3 games I think), hurt his foot. sat the rest of the year, sat his second year. Or the other way around (sat, played 3 games next year and hurt foot).

Either way, he burned his red shirt year and used one. He came in and had 3 more.

That is a big reason why the backup QB transferred.
What a lousy thread.

Someone pointed out to me about kj Lawson that medical redshirts aren't guaranteed for a sixth season when a regular redshirt was used as well. He will need to get it approved

medicals are never guarenteed. you always have to get approvval.

I like your enthusiasm, but he won’t get faster, arm will not get stronger. His personality won’t get more assertive. Probably was about the same in high school as he is now. He is what he is, can’t due much about limitations, just accept them
Just to clarify for the half asleeps: Brady White will be a RS Senior in 2019. He can petition for a 6th year and have one of his RS years declared a medical RS and also be a RS Senior for the 2020 season.

It's up to the NCAA to grant the 6th year, and not automatic.

Brady redshirted in 2015. Played briefly in 2016 as a redshirt Freshman, broke his foot severely in October, '16 in the UCLA game. Was a redshirt Sophomore in 2017 at Arizona State. Graduated so didn't have to sit out a transfer year, but is still listed as a redshirt Junior on the Tigers web site for 2018.

The general NCAA rule is 5 years to play 4. Question would seem to be was Brady injured for all or most of the 2017 season at Arizona State, or did he just get beat out for the job and not play because of that.

Some dude has kept a 6th year eligibility spread sheet. By my count, 15 of last 45 6th year medical appeals have been denied, so would seem to be about a 2/3rds chance at approval if Brady wants to play in 2020. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...edit#gid=0
He will be one of the top 5 QBs in Memphis history by the time he is done if he has 2 years remaining. Maybe top 3
