According to this guy, the Troy HC job would be a step up for Seth Littrell... 05-stirthepot

Coaching Candidates To Take Over The Troy Trojans in 2019

Seth Littrell – North Texas Head Coach

Much like coach Brown was a legitimate offensive guru at Kentucky and Texas Tech, Troy is looking into offensive guru Littrell. In three seasons with North Texas, Littrell accounted for a 23-17 record including nine-wins each in the two previous seasons. He has turned his Mean Green offense into one of the most consistently, explosive offenses in the nation. In 2017, North Texas was ranked 19th in points per game with an average of 35.5 points per game. This past season, the Mean Green had the 28th scoring offense (34.6 points) in the nation. Littrell is a potential head coach for a power-five program in the future, so it would make sense for him to be attracted to the program that brought Brown to West Virginia. He could bring the Trojans’ offense to the same consistent, explosiveness that he brought to North Texas.

Littrell’s not leaving NT for Troy . . . 07-coffee3
LMAO....Troy couldn't even come close to matching what North Texas is paying Littrell. That's not even a realistic pipe dream.

I know 03-wink

But UNT fans came here saying that Neal Brown (if approached) would move to UNT in a heartbeat, just some weeks ago...

Next year’s sun belt championship is Georgia Southern vs Louisiana.

GS is taking the mantle as the standard bearer for the conference in 2019, I believe.

Louisiana will be the best in the west, but that’s not saying a whole lot. I think Coastal would be a top 2 team in that division.

As much as I like your sentiment, we have a ***** of a season with away games AT Appy, Troy, and AState. I know these last two don't affect the conference rankings, but add AT LSU and AT Minnesota and we have a helluva tough away schedule.

No way in the world that would have happened either lol.

Yes North Texas pays more but that would be a dumb move for a coach to make.

You guys started it. Remember this thread's title?

Sure. If your definition of thriving is appearing in the Top 25 rankings a total of two weeks since 2014.

Sun Belt sucks and CUSA is thriving because Marshall had a great season 5 years ago that saw them rise to 18th in the polls. Lol ok. No disrespect to Marshall, I respect your football program. Dumb argument though.

CUSA is trending down. If I bought CUSA stock 20 years ago, 10 years ago, 5 years ago? I’d be broke right now. Sun Belt has improved immensely over that period.

It wasn’t that long ago that the Sun Belt champion was 5-6 and we were a one bowl league, and CUSA had Louisville and TCU, and this really wasn’t a discussion. Now it’s to the point where CUSA has to go to rankings from 5 years ago or some made up ESPN bowl win % championship to argue their superiority.

G5 football overall is trending down. If the Sun Belt is trending up (which is questionable) it's only because it had nowhere to go but up.

It makes no difference how we move the needle. Ask UCF or App state. The G5 seems to be fine in the southeast.

Yeah. App's entire week spent ranked in one poll lmao....please don't mention them and UCF in the same sentence in the future.
Who in the FBS has won more games than App State the last four years? Hint their are only four and they’ve all played in the playoffs I believe twice.

Ok now post the teams Georgia Southern has played vs the ones UCF has played. This is silly. There's no question the AAC has higher quality teams and they have wins over teams that were actually ranked. This is like saying we're better than NCST because we have a better record even though the best team you had to play was App State and they had to play 3 teams ranked in the top 25. The logic is sketchy at best.

That is awesome. I have a ton of respect for App St but I don't care how many games you have won over the last 4 years. UCF's success is on another level right now, there's no comparison.

Nah. How is pointing to 10 and 1 record head to head a sketchy comparison? The Sun Belt now has Georgia Southern and Appylachin State. GAME CHANGER DBAGS! Watch what happens next.

App's success representing the SunBelt is on another level then anything the CUSA has to offer right now, there's no comparison ...

I'll go further and say GS entered the league and won the conference title year one ineligible for a bowl game. The second year 8 - 4 beats the MAC champ 58 - 27 in the Go Daddy Bowl. Largest margin of victory in Sun Belt history. Two down years follow with a bad hire but back to 10 - 3 the next moving long time assistant to head coach skull dragging conference champ App state 34-14. Long time assistant is meaningful due the the 4 coaching transition during the transition. We're in a good spot going forward. App has no clue but no matter.
