Minnesota has extended football coach P.J. Fleck's contract again by one year, through the 2023 season.

The university announced the agreement on Friday, after it was approved by the Board of Regents.

The Gophers went 6-6 this year for an invitation to the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit against Georgia Tech, after finishing 5-7 in 2017, Fleck's first season. He received a one-year extension then as well. Fleck's salary this season was $3.55 million, and he received a $75,000 bonus for the bowl bid. Beating Georgia Tech on Dec. 26 would trigger another $50,000 bonus.

Minnesota ended a 14-game losing streak to rival Wisconsin last month with a 37-15 victory over the Badgers to take back possession of Paul Bunyan's Axe.
Keep it up, PJ. Beating the Badgers must mean so much in the Land o' Lakes.

Minnesota coaches have a shorter shelf life. No one can put up with PJ that long ,especially without a hint of winning a title. Lovie hung 55 on him. HAHAHAHAHAHA
I wish PJ nothing but the best. I always enjoy seeing HUSKIES succeed in their chosen professions!

December 15, 2023.

On that date, if PJ hasn't taken the Gophers and turned them into a national power, then I will take my medicine and publicly admit that I was foolish to put blind faith into an old friend and his ability to guide a program to national prominence.

However, if I'm correct, then I will expect a full apology on this site. Deal?

the hate somewhat made sense 4-5 years ago. but at this point, PJ is a seasoned veteran and he is doing something right. time to let go of the hate.
Minnesota is paying their HC 3.5 mil? Wow, I did not realize that.
