Congratulations to BJ Stith, who won CUSA player of the week award for the second straight week! That’s just awesome. Last week he averaged 24 points and 12.5 rebounds. Those numbers sound more like all time great Odell Hodges numbers, especially those rebounding numbers.

Well done Mr. Stith !

If it wasn't for Brian Beard Jr. and FIU's soft schedule, I would say BJ and Ahmad are the frontrunners for Player of the Year. Elmore is right there too.

I see what you did there. No need to invite the Marshall trolls to come here and riot.
How about we just say congrats to our guy. Don't give a rats ass about anyone from another team or player of the year. Way to early for anything like that.

Our guy has two straight Player of the Week awards, he's on fire! Lets keep it going young man!!!!
Exactly. Especially considering how dozens of posts reminded us all how his game was trash just a few weeks ago. I think at least a few congrats might be in order.
Congrats to BJ. We are fortunate to have him on the team as to have been able to watch his brother play as well. BJ can flat out play.
Look everyone needs to stop acting like the people that criticized him owe him an apology. The fact was his game was trash a month ago, but he played through it and is playing great now. End of story
Congrats to BJ! He is so fun to watch when he is ON!
BJ game logs:

Navy: 14 and 8 (4 assists)
St. Joes: 10 and 11
Oregon State: 15 and 6 (5 TOs)
Kennesaw: 13 and 10
UNI: 6 and 11
UNI: 25 and 4
VCU 21 and 5
JMU: 28 and 8
W&M: 20 and 11
Fairfield: 28 and 14

My point is that BJ had one bad game (the first UNI game), and was mediocre against OSU. Otherwise, he's been pretty darn good for us this year. Sure, the bad games were magnified because they were in the tourney, and a bad game for BJ really hurts our chances at winning. But, he is human. He's not going to be great every time out. It's up to the rest of the guys to pick it up when he has a "bad" day.

I just think to say his game was "trash" is overstating it.

Truth. Glad he's played through the slump but through the first 5 games avg. 11.6 ppg isnt what you expect from your senior shooting guard. Way to right the ship, but keep it up, ITS WHATS EXPECTED OF YOU.

Talk about an over reaction. I see one post above where it was said some people owe an apology to Stith. "Everyone" is your comment. Why get so carried away with one persons opinion? His opinion is as fair as yours saying his game was "trash". Stith was definitely forcing some shots early but it's not like we had a bunch of guys scoring everywhere.
3rd straight Player of the Week for BJ

NORFOLK, Va. – B.J. Stith of the Old Dominion men’s basketball team was named the Conference USA Player of the Week for the third consecutive week, as announced by league officials on Monday afternoon. Stith becomes just the second player ever to win the weekly award three times in a row; the first to ever do it was ODU’s Trey Freeman in 2016.
Well deserved. I gotta imagine he's the early frontrunner for player of the year. Unless someone on NT gets it playing against D3 and NAIA schools?
Well deserved, we go as BJ goes.
Congrats to BJ.! Well deserved! Monarch Nation is proud of you and all of our Monarchs!
I'm more impressed with Saturday's performance than with the other weeks. I don't know that I have ever seen a player with such a horrible first half performance, and then totally dominate the second half the way he did. And to do it on the road in that environment. .. Way to gut it out.
Congrats on being a 3 time winner of the conference award.
That is a very impressive accomplishment, congrats to him!

Let’s all hope it’s the springboard to him becoming an all 1st team player which he absolutely has the potential to be!
