Tre Harbison needs 15 rushing yards for 1,000 on the season.

Jauan Wesley needs one more catch for 50 on the season.

Marcus Childers needs 4 rushing yards for 500 on the season

Childers needs 4 passing yards for 2,000 on the season

Childers has thrown 368 of the team's 372 passes this year, 98.9% of the total. The other passes were one each by Anthony Thompson, Jauan Wesley, Matt Ference and DJ Brown, and Ference's was on a botched hold if I'm not mistaken. The last time one player was anywhere near that percentage of total passes was 2013 when Jordan Lynch threw 404 of 414 passes for 96.6% of the total. I looked all the way back through 2001 and did not find another instance where backups threw fewer than ten passes. The closest besides 2013 were 2001 and 2002 where backups threw 11 passes.

Comparison of Childers and Harnish stats through first two years (Childers of course has one more game to play this year):

Childers Rushing
2017 143 attempts, 473 yards, 3.3 avg, 5 TDs
2018 176 attempts, 496 yards, 2.82 avg, 6 TDs
Total 313 attempts, 969 Yards 3.04 avg, 11 TDs

Harnish Rushing
2008 118 attempts, 539 yards, 4.6 avg, 4 TDs
2009 89 attempts, 229 yards, 2.57 avg, 2 TDs
Total 207 attempts, 768 yards, 3.71 avg, 6 TDs

Childers Passing
2017 152-265 .57 1,674 yards, 16 TD's 5 INTs
2018 212-368 .58 1,996 yards, 15 TDs 10 INTs
Total 364-633 .58 3,670 yards, 31 TDs 15 INTs

Harnish Passing
2008 118-211 .56 1,528 yards, 8 TDs 9 INTs
2009 143-223 .64 1,670 yards, 11 TDs 6 INTs
Total 261-434 .60 3,145 yards, 19 TDs 15 INTs

We gave up the most sacks in a long time this year.

Kyle Pugh needs 1 tackle for 100 on the season. AJD has 119. The last time the team had two players with 100 tackles was (just missed last year) 2015, 2011, 2006. Leading tacklers by year:

2017 Bobby Jones 107, Jawuan Johnson 98
2016 Jamal Payton/Sean Folliard 81
2015 Boomer Mays 114, Marlon Moore 105
2014 Marlon Moore 99

2008 David Bryant 83
2007 Alex Kube 111
2006 Dustin Utschig 116, Tim McCarthy 111
2005 Dustin Utschig 106

It appears something changed in the early 2000's regarding the way tackles are recorded because tackle totals were much higher then. Antonio Jones-Davis has the most tackles in a season since then with one game still to play.

I like the side by side of Harnish/Childers......Chandler wasn't dynamic until his Junior and Senior year.

The sacks given up this year was alarming. Great stuff. Thanks!
The sacks given up are because Childers holds onto the ball too long.

People want to say he is bad but look at Harnish he was bad too. I just don't see Childers turning it on his junior and senior year. I hope I am wrong because two more years of this offense will be excruciatingly painful. We have watched a lot of backup MAC QBs outperform him.

Equally as important is the fact NIU does not have separation receivers, or really for that matter, are not running routes to get receivers open. He still has to find a way to get rid of the ball though.
2013 was just a freakish year. 7200 yards of total offense. I was hoping Lynch had better stats in the Orange bowl. He was close to throwing for 3000 and running for 2000. Stingily had 1100+ yards. Those are video game numbers.

Jordan Lynch. Almost 3000 passing and 2000 rushing with 23 Tds. Let that sink in. Stingliy had 1200 yards rushing too.
