Army up early, 7-0.

God bless our Middies and Cadets.
Army leads 7-0 at the half.

Navy surprisingly hanging tough, they can win this.
If Navy beats top 25 Army, would this raise UCF into the CFP?
Can you believe that a good game was delayed almost 10 minutes for the ACC officials to review a call?

And as usual the ACC replay got it wrong. Play should been stands. Ball was not placed at the 41 which is what I thought they said the placement of the ball was to be.
Man are they laying the wood to each other today. There have been some tremendous hits (all legal so far).
Congratulations Army! 02-13-banana
What an incredible year for Army! 10-2 and a great bowl matchup with Houston. The Army-Navy game is one of the greatest rivalries and traditions in all of college sports IMO. Good stuff!

**EDIT - With Army's 3rd win in a row in the series, Navy's lead all-time narrows to 56-52-7. These two teams first played, wait for it......in 1891!

See, that's a real "rivalry", a series where both teams have had substantial success.

Sometimes, series get called rivalries even though one team has dominated. But those aren't rivalries because one team has owned all the glory.

Series like Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State (OU leads 88-18) and Alabama vs Ole Miss (Alabama leads 54-10) aren't rivalries, they are traditional games.

Or as Nick Saban once said, "that wasn't an argument, that was an arse-chewing".

Army vs Navy is an argument. OU vs OKST is an arse-chewing.

I disagree, Oklahoma and OK State are rivals in ALL sports, just because the football series is lopsided doesn’t make it any less important for both teams to win.

Don't watch much ACC football?!? They are the worst. 03-puke

Congrats to Army by the way. Should win the Lambert Trophy this year but it will probably go to Penn State. 03-banghead

Cheers,

... and a grudging congrats to you guys on your win today. Second straight year we had the game won and then 03-puke it away.

That's what rivalry frustrations are made of. 03-banghead

Thanks but I don't think the Hoyas actually "gave" the game away. If we had played half as well in the first half as we did in the second half it would have been a 10 point win for the good guys. 03-wink

But I was really impressed with Ewing as coach. Very smart of him to go to the 2-3 zone on defense to stem the tide. That's what made it close in the end.

Cheers,
Neil

Indeed. Jeff Monken has been great for their program. A chance to finish with an 11 win season and 3-0 in bowls with him at the helm.

60 wins for Navy. 60-52-7
First game in 1890
I thought army got hosed on that reviewed call. How was that not a first down? At least it didn't cost them the game.

Yes, the review was ridonculously long, despite the fact that anyone could see within the first 5 seconds of watching that it was inconclusive as to whether he got the first down or not, so the call on field should have stood.

Like you, I was glad it didn't cost them the game.

The rule should be this:
If they can't find indisputable video evidence overturning the call on the field within 60 seconds, then the call on the field stands. Move on, already.

If you want to know why millennials aren't attending games, a huge part of it is the replay reviews that suck all the excitement out of the stadium.
