Good show Ty Long!


Ty Long from UAB earned All-Star recognition.

Duke Williams, a wide receiver for the Edmonton Eskimos, and Long, the punter for the British Columbia Lions, are members of the CFL All-Star team selected by the Football Reporters of Canada and the league’s head coaches, which was unveiled on Tuesday.

Long led the CFL with 5,853 punting yards as he averaged 48.8 yards per punt in 2018. He also made 43-of-49 field-goal attempts as the Lions' kicker.

I know his gramps is VERY proud of his achievement, as we all are. If there is ever a" UAB Fan of the Year" award, I think Ken Brown should be at the head of the line for receiving it.

The way he stood up for his team I will never forget.

One of my all time favorite former UAB Players. Having a good thought for him always. NFL teams are goofy to not have Ty on their roster.

No doubt about that. Love those signs/banners he brings to the games and will at times walk over to the opposing team's side of the stadium to show them. Great guy!

Hope he sticks in he NFL. Know he has Several tryouts.

Two for one as he can kick and punt.

I think he was even chosen for his team's MVP.

Ken said Ty has been tied to his CFL contract but that he'll test the NFL waters next season.
