You guys may hold onto him for 1 more year but I wouldn’t feel safe yet

Losing to Liberty and APP likely flipped Satterfield ahead of Brown. Getting blown out by Boise when the SBC and MWC are practically neck and neck now didn't help either.

Still a long ways to go, and we need to keep our coordinators too.

During a rebuilding year...Louisville didn’t want to hire a UK guy. However, Satterfield really did amazing work at App St. Logical choice to hire him.
One thing these programs want is a coach that can maintain success and keep his guys focused. Neal Brown has done a great job at Troy, and Troy fans love having him... but you have to admit he's had some head scratching losses that have hurt Troy's chances at having historical runs.

Examples:

2016 - Troy is undefeated in Sun Belt and ranked #25, then loses at home to Arkansas State and loses to a bad Georgia Southern two weeks later. Troy falls out of the picture for a conference championship.

2017 - Troy starts out 4-1, upsets #22 LSU in Death Valley, and is nine spots out from being ranked in the Top 25. Troy then gets upset at home by a bad South Alabama that kills their momentum and takes them out of the national spotlight.

2018 - Troy starts out 5-1 with what was considered, at the time, an upset win over Nebraska... Troy starts getting votes in the Top 25 polls. Then we get upset at Liberty. We eventually lose to App State and miss out on another conference championship.
I think we are gonna hang onto him another year. He’s name has basically dropped off radars

Had Brohm left for Louisville, Troy would be in the market for a head coach today.
I think Brown is safe for one more year unless NFL jobs start more dominoes falling
If he stays we are in for a great year. Tons of relent returning. And the best Football schedule anyone could ask for.
I agree, but letdown games happen all the time to most programs (eg App St this year).

On the other hand, programs like Boise St and UCF rarely fail, but this is the difference between Boise St, UCF, etc and SBC teams... however, I am pretty sure there will be an undefeated and ranked SBC team in the next two or three years... if W Michigan and (almost) Utah State can do it...why not SBC teams.
Probably safe, but if stAte fans have learned one thing, never get too comfortable.
If Troy keeps Brown for next year, they win the belt. No question.

I guess all of those all conference underclassmen are leaving too.

While our skill is great, we have to get used to a new coach. Sad that we have to squander a year of talent on this bull****.
Man these GaSo fans are really looking forward to a year where the rest of the conference is down enough for them to win it again.

What? The OP is the only Southern fan posted in this thread before your post.

The only coach whose job is secure and also won’t be hired away is Blake Anderson.

“Those that think I’m ‘one and done’ don’t know me very well”.

Well you know he’s building a 7-8 win monster every season.
You know, it's pissing me off to hear this from all you ********. Anderson may be a screw up but he's our screw up. Now get off my lawn!
