I've looked through all the App Coaches' twitters (except one has his locked/private). Brown is the only one to follow anything Louisville so far.
Really good article/interview with Doug Gillin

snippets:

Quote:When asked about the App State culture, and if a candidate would benefit from being familiar with the school, Gillin sees that as a plus but not a requirement.

Quote:Gillin said he won't put a target date on the hire. Although he would prefer to have a new coach in place before the football team leaves for winter break.
Who will coach?

A winner.

I'm assuming that's pretty much immediately after the bowl?

Sirignano too if you count strength coach. I feel confident Brown, Ponce, and Sirignano are gone to UofL.

He's one I worry about most. He has as much to do with the development of players as a lot of the coaches do. He arrived in 14 ... right about the time App got back to winning every game.

Pissing off a rival fan base should not be your top priority lol. Who knows if Sloan is HC material.

I lean proven FCS coaches first.

Then coords with proven track records under HC's that are not calling the plays. OC's first then DC's. DC's seem to be more meat headed and fail more.
LOL if they didn't even take a look at Brown. Just horrible. Maybe he wanted nothing to do with it, but man he was everything you look for in a head coach now.

Don’t assume that App hasn’t talked to Brown about being HC, but I expect both guys have an idea what’s on the table at UL. It’s possible Brown and Ponce could get coordinator jobs at UL.... Satt needs his lieutenants in a world full of strangers. UL could pay them more than they could make at App for all we know. Also, let’s not forget the next App coach will want to bring his own people in too.

I'd prefer a proven FCS coach for sure. Coordinators are hit or miss, IMO. If a guy was a good head coach in DII, then FCS, it likely won't change to this level. Some guys are great coordinators, and always will be, but don't have the soft skills needed to be a HC.

But hell, we hired a special teams coach that took a 2 win team to a potential 10 win team.
WSJ reporting Brown And Ponce are gone. Honestly Ponce was probably our number one recruiter.

1. Mark Spier (not sexy from a W-L perspective, but he's done a good job at WCU where it's pretty hard to win).

2. Curt Cignetti (great turn-around at Elon, made the playoffs 2 straight years, Nick Saban understudy)

3. Brian Bohannon (heads would explode in Statesboro)

4. Nate Woody (retain as much as the old staff as you can, I think you're guaranteed one more really good season, but long term it's a risk)

State fans are more invested in this than App fans.

Elliot would be awesome.

I see several people talking about bringing in a known coach and talking about keeping your coordinators?

Why would they stay if Satterfield offers them a job at Louisville? And if he doesn't, why doesn't he want them?
Elliott would NOT be awesome. UL had concerns about the lack of P5 experience on Satterfield's staff. That's why a majority will not go.

Brown has been a full time coach 4 years. No thank you.

when is early signing day?

Are you guys worried about losing any potential early signees if yall don't get someone named soon?
ouch, first casualty.

wonder if he will get an offer from Lousiville. Has an offer from NCSU apparently.

Dec 19-21, week after the bowl game.
He was contacted by UNCHeat before Satt took the job.

App has 10 scholarships to give this year, couldn't have left in a better year recruiting wise.

We have a RB that was been contacted by half a dozen P5s before Satt left too. When he flips try not to mess your pants.
