"One of the key aspects of the design is a covered public plaza that provides an outdoor gathering space whose flexible design allows it to be active every day, not just on game days. In addition, the design seeks to integrate athletics-adjacent academic programs such as Kinesiology, Health, Nutrition, and Student Media Facilities to encourage year-round utilization of the facility."

Projected completion time is around Fall 2021.

The use of ATL's skyline view is just icing on the cake. Yes please.

Near the football stadium. A baseball stadium will be built between the two.
Looks really nice.

That would seem to indicate that the baseball stadium might not be happening as planned.

Or is there some misinterpretation going on?

Edit: No change to the baseball stadium construction. It will still be constructed to fit inside the footprint of the old Atlanta Fulton County Stadium. Expect it around 2022 or 2023. The super block will be divided into several new blocks to become a walkable community with sidewalks and streetlights and such. Say goodbye to the giant wasteland while you can :)
That window to the city.......beautiful! Great work by the design team for sure. Long project to get all that land developed, but when it’s all said and done, things will look very nice in South Campus.
If you're familiar with the area by the stadium, itll be on the land roughly across the street from the Holiday Inn on Hank Aaron and I-20
It looks nice. But I have to include a however, sorry. I don’t understand why your end zone seats have a second level, but your sideline seats have only one level. JMU is apparently doing the same thing. I just don’t get this trend.
Very sweet. I'd like to go and see a game in that.

Agree ......... Why wouldn't they simply rotate the court 90 degrees so the WINDOW is located on the basketball hoop (end zone) side?

Maybe the drawing is wrong and it will be that way.

Otherwise, looks nice. Having these stadiums being utilized numerous ways besides for sports is smart. I've noticed with football expansions concerning press boxes/club seating, they are doing this. Classrooms, banquet halls, wedding receptions etc.

It will be going on this piece of land we acquired earlier this year.

Nice! GSU deserves a nice arena. Hopefully we can join you with a new one soon.
As much disdain as App fans hold for Charlie Cobb, he is going to build GSU into the premier athletic program of the Sun Belt within 10 years. With that arena and upgraded facilities, GSU's basketball program may be the entirety of the Belt on notice. Invest or get out of the way.
looks great...but you'll have to put someone on staff to go out and pick up all the dead birds that flew into that bank of glass...
