I'm generally okay with most of these selections, but Jackson from Buffalo as the Offensive Player of the Year when he's arguably not even the top QB???? Not so sure there...

And Central gets 4 guys on First Team D and still goes 1-11...that tells a pretty strong story.
I'm shocked we have zero defensive award winners. SHOCKED, i tell you.
Jackson is a helluva passer.
Reminds me of Dwayne Haskins (Ohio State).
Definitely deserving.
I'd give Eskridge a third team nod if it were up to me, that guy converted a lot of deep balls and had more yards per game than Reed. He was the #5 MAC receiver in yards per game. Didn't get a lot of receiving touchdowns, but blame Bogan for that.
My QB picks would be Rourke first team, a healthy Wassink second team, and Jackson third team. I'm not a huge statistics guy, but he was #3 in passing average, #5 in efficiency, and Buffalo played a lot of bad teams. Rourke totally out-shined him head-to-head. Against Ohio, Jackson went 9-21, 116 yards and 2 INTs. That's not offensive player of the year numbers acceptable for a QB in any MAC game. Then again, he did have big games against some good MAC defenses.

I think he would have came here if Wassink didn't commit first.
Eskridge got snubbed big time.
And I agree about Rourke being the best QB in the MAC, with Jackson a close second.
Also surprising to see John Keenoy not make 1st team this year.

100%

Rourke was the best this year. I don't think it was close. Eskridge was snubbed.
They can't forget about using Eskeridge for whole games next year. As he continues to improve his route running, nobody in the MAC can check him. You could see when they started using him on comeback routes, he can grab an easy 8-10 yards almost every time because they have to respect him going deep. It's taking candy from a baby.

And to think... Reed can do the same!

And Watson makes clutch catches, Bussell hasn't taken a snap yet, we heard a ton about the promise of Hall, and Arnett and Sanders are still out there.
Now that the passing game is all on the same page, we have a lot of talent for a long time, along with a young offensive line and good backs. If we can figure out how to be at least consistently average on defense and competent on special teams, this can be a special team.
On defense I think we have some players who have All-MAC ability, but because as a team our defense was so atrocious that they would never get acknowledgement. I think Grace is a very good player, and if he played for most of the other teams this year he would be recognized. But when the defense as a whole is so terrible, its hard to complain.
As for offense, I think WMU is loaded with tremendous talent, but again, we never maximized their abilities. We hurt our talented backs by running primarily when defenses knew we would, and threw to our receivers when pass plays were likely. Imagine what our receivers would do in some of the more dynamic style offenses. Same with our offensive line. That is a very good group, and it looks a bit like they under-performed for the year, when in fact they simply were not put in the best circumstances to be most successful. But I digress.
And yet offensively we were third in MAC in total offense, fourth in scoring, third in rushing, and second in passing - despite losing our starting QB and playing a true freshman the last three-plus games.
Boy, did our play-calling suck.
brovol shows that every male in America thinks there are two things he can do better than any other - grill, and coach football.
Bogan got screwed. Glad to see Bellamy is on there, but overlooking Bogan is uncalled for.

Those statistics are all relative. When you are giving up 40 points per game, and do it without much resistance, you actually get more offensive possessions yourself, and have more opportunities to score, not to mention a late game need to open things up (which essentially forces conservative coaches to do what they should have done in the first place, and allows the offense to score). Please remember our opener against Syracuse, where we tried to run early and often without success, only to be forced in the second to open it up (with great success).
No, I've never coached football Major, but I have some sense, and while I hate to burst your bubble, coaching doesnt necessarily require genius. It is leadership, teaching simple concepts, understanding and implementing a winning philosophy and strategy. That is not to say it is an easy job, but either is waiting tables. You regularly speak as if us commoners are too simple to understand these challenging concepts, and your wisdom comes from a burning bush. I genuinely appreciate your perspective, but please save the "unless you have been a coach you cant understand" mantra. If you think our offense was all that it could be, just say so. You tend to be critical of others comments without actually providing a clear opinion on the subject.
Facts, as they say, is facts.

Agree. So did Keenoy.
But unless you dominate especially in a 12-team league it's nearly impossible to get two players selected at same position.

Keenoy is the biggest snub in my opinion... he’s been the best center in the MAC for the last three years... guy is going to be our next NFL OL pick. WMU is becoming OL-U!
I suspect if they picked a true Center instead of just five OL - Keenoy would've been First Team.
