A rumor I heard yesterday from a pretty reliable person involved with the Memphis Express is that Lynch's agent is pushing him to consider CFL or AAF due to lack on interest in his services in the NFL. This person has said the Express has let their interest be known if the opportunity for acquiring Lynch was real. Lynch, however, is still miffed that he has not gotten another NFL opportunity and has been resistant to the idea.

It's no big secret the negative wrap on Lynch is in regards to his mental abilities, not physical. Seems like dropping down to a lower tier might give him a chance to prove the mental aspect ain't so lacking.

FWIW
Memphis drafted former 2nd round pick Christian Hackenberg out of Penn State yesterday in the AAF draft. Not sure how that would affect Paxton, if at all.
I hope it happens. It would be great to watch him again.
I hope the interest in Paxton from the Express is real...

Memphis protected and took Troy Cook from UT-Martin in Rd 1, Hackenberg (Penn St) in Rd 2, Brandon Silvers (Troy) in Rd 3 and Zach Mettenberger (LSU) in Rd 4

If he has any interest, he probably should have let the local team know of his interest before the draft ....
Heard our coach, Mike Singletary, on the radio today with Wolo. He was unbelievably unexcited and uninformed. "Going through the motions" is the best way I could put it. He wasn't able to answer simple questions about the schedule of events and other things a real coach would know backwards and forwards. Must of said twenty times that he needs to sit down with the staff and try and figure out what his players can do. If he is any indication of this league, it won't last very long, so don't be too concerned about whether Paxton or anyone else plays for this team.

Went to their website, latest news for all 8 teams had the exact same stories. Memphis roster shows 88 players, including Jonathan Cook, Martin Iced, Gabe Kuhn, Jamal Pardner and Jonathan Ray from Memphis or about 5% of the team. Lots from UTK, TSU, MTSU, Ole Miss and Arkansas. We'll play 5 home games...Arizona, San Diego, Birmingham, Orlando and Atlanta.

Mike is not a rah rah guy at all....I think the AAF will be great....it has the backing of the right people, digital marketing, Fantasy during games, gambling for same....there may be a growth curve, but I'm excited as hell....and I was a huge fan and supporter of the Southmen and Showboats

The only excitement he showed in San Fran was that time he ackwardly pulled his drawers down in the locker room. I think that was icing on the cake as far as taking him seriously as an NFL head coach.

I heard him last week. How could he be so intense as a player and such a snooze off the field?

so there is ONE AAF fan one here!

Seriously, this will be promoted as a pretty big deal but I wonder if they will out draw the 901 Soccer team, which is playing in a venue 1/6th the size.

My thoughts exactly...I don't get it.

That being said I will likely be out there freezing my ass off because it's associated with Memphis.
The timing makes senses. Starts right after the Super Bowl. No college football or pro on TV for competition. Better access to players who want to try get an NFL camp invite in the summer.

But, the hiring of Singletary and the uniforms are somewhat uninspiring.

No, actually I am a MEMPHIS fan
I heard Lynch had a tryout session with the Dolphins a week or two ago that did not impress the Miami staff one bit.

Bad luck for the AAF that their biggest fan on this board lives 5 hours away. 03-drunk

I hope they do well, but if they fall on their face here, I will not feel bad for one minute Or blame Memphis , it is a product, it is their job to sell tickets, not our obligation to give them our business.
I think Paxton will get a camp invite to one of the NFL teams in July. He will definitely have to earn a spot this time, it won't be a given. If he gets cut, then there will always be the AAF, a new lauching XFL, or even the CFL in the Summer of 2020 if he really wants to try to play. After that his only hope would be for the NFL owners to form a esports gaming league like the NBA owners did. Maybe that's where his passion really is.

This league is going to suck so bad it is ridiculous. I have just about as much excitement as Singletary does.

It will fail. They are starting the season way too early, right after the superbowl. Everybody will be in a euphoric state from the nfl season and nobody will care. It's a dead period in sports during the summer where there is no NFL or NBA is on. AAF should have aimed to have their playoffs and championship around that time. People would watch out of boredom in that timeframe.
Really excited about the new league. Right people behind it, CBS carrying games. Interactive experience and wagering during games. Plus it’s football to carry us over til August.
