We picked him because he was in an NFL camp this year, but yeah, not impressed.
I had to google him too. He won the Harlon Hill Trophy in college, which is the Division II equivalent of the Heisman. They showed the Championship Odds last night and Birmingham was given the worst odds to win it all at 15:1.

There was one token UAB signee. He is worthy to be on the team but he was signed just to attempt to get the UAB crowd interested.
The point I was getting at earlier is that you knew that they would get an Alabama QB in the mix.
No idea why they now have like 7 QB's on the roster.

The GM was hired from Alabama. I'd expect the teams to be majority Alabama going forward. Even on the Auburn side, the only barn player they had for a long time was a long snapper. The guy clearly shows bias towards his former players.

If I wasn't a Blazer 100% and I owned that franchise, that's probably what I would do. First, they have by far the biggest fan base in the area. Second, and more importantly for the Iron, Bammers will buy dried dog turds if they have BAMA printed on them. They are much more likely to come see washed up former players than any other fans in the area IMO.

I totally understand it. I'm not going to fault the guy for stacking his team full of players that he has personal relationships with, at least not right now while they're trying to put a roster together. Obviously I'm just not a fan, given my other loyalties.
I understand as well why their team would do it.
I don't understand why UAB fans would be overly interested in the team though.
