Just curious as to what peoples opinion is on this one. Who has impressed you the most this season. Go
Antonio Jones-Davis. He's all over the field.
Jones-Davis and Harbison, for sure
Corcoran would be if he could stay healthy and out of the penalty box.
Matt Ference deserves some consideration. Tough to find much love as a punter but we should not take a talented guy like this for granted.

+1

His punting accuracy is ridiculous. Not the strongest leg but very accurate in where he places it.
Everyone on Defense. No on on offense
Great thread. Just football talk and not NIU football politics. I’ve been super impress with Jack Heflin. I thought Westin Kramer would be the tackle to make an impact this season but Heflin has really stepped up.
We return a lot of good players next season which is promising. We'll obviously have to replace great players like Scharping but we return a lot on both sides of the ball. Hopefully Childers can improve this offseason and take a jump in his junior season. Pretty amazing we have won 7 games and the MAC West thus far without much production from the QB. Our running game is solid, we return Harbs and if Childers can just improve his accuracy and timing, then watch out. Also, I gotta imagine Sutton Smith will be back for his senior season unless he's a projected draft pick. I haven't looked at any mock drafts so I don't know what his stock is like, but he's an undersized edge rusher. Maybe one more beastly year to sell the scouts?

Beat Buffalo. Go Huskies!
Heflin yes.

Harbison and Marcus Jones on O.
Childers

He really did take over that EMU game, Huskies don't beat EMU without him. The other game that sticks out to me is Akron, he really took charge of that game and probably was the difference. What has impressed me so much about Childers , is he is fighting a QB unfriendly system and has still had some great moments this year. Id go with Heflin and Jones-Davis too but I think it is fair to say Heflin has greatly greatly benefited from Sutton Smith.
Childers does not equal "most impressive" in my book. That's not really a knock on him--he's just not that.

No argument with anyone else mentioned. Gotta send some love Kyle Pugh's way. He continues to impress, even while dealing with what seems like one injury after another.

Agree with Red Dog--could be a fun season next year. Nonconference schedule will be tough, but not crazy like this year. That will help (and should make NIUFrank less grumpy!).

Agreed. Has anyone mentioned Max S? O-lineman don't get much love/attention but he is having a great year and he will be very difficult to replace. The NFL mock drafts have him the # 80 pick range.
Speaking of SS did all know he won the MAC west defensive player of the week - again? https://niuhuskies.com/news/2018/11/26/f...honor.aspx
I'm pissed off we lost to WMU and MOU, but I'm proud overall of this team. Childers still making mistakes but he has improved but my God would love for him to show more emotion. Feel like he is bottled up inside.

Heflin,, that is a YES.

On offense, I felt Perez was playing at an All - MAC level. before he got hurt. Was surprised they recruited him from JC based on the talent we have there. Our OLINE will be solid for the next 2 years.

Max? He so damn good looks like he isn't doing anything special, but the same damn thing every play. Here is a guy who played very well against NFL type players during his career here.
Marcus Childers. He quarterbacked a MAC West title.
With the defense we have the trophy is ours, the offense is the drunk who stumbles, trips, drops the damn trophy and we lose it. No the QB is not the most impressive Huskies.
We have a lot of playmakers on defense. Smith, Pugh, Williams, Jones-Davis, Corcoran, Heflin, Kramer. This is probably the best defense we have had. Did not mention Leroy and many others.
