Short version: Most of the people that couldn't play Saturday are unlikely to be able to play this Saturday. We need another big crowd to make the drive up again for the game.
03-puke No Spencer? No TJ? No offensive line? Yikes. Maybe this is all a big mindf*** by Coach to have them off balance.

I think we will definitely get some of the missing guys back. We probably won't get them all back.
Yea we will be in good shape Saturday. I know one is out for sure.
It's more than a question of who can play, it's who can play effectively. Poor Garrett Marino has been trying to play at ~70% for weeks now. AJ needs surgery and is just toughing it out and trying to play through it. How effective will the players that do return to action be with one weeks recovery?

Not very good would be my guess. No way AJ will sniff 100%, nor Marino or even Harris. Who knows though? Sometimes a weeks rest can make a lot of difference.
If a player is questionable regarding injury. Don’t even let them dress out. Rest em for the bowl game. if you are worried your back ups can’t play well enough to allow the injured to rest, then it was never meant to be. That goes back to recruiting.

Marino, the obvious one I paid attention to after kickoff. Had trouble just running on to the field. Should still be in a boot.
I think our current health is showing that we are still in team building mode. Folks can say, "Well, you got to recruit as many players as you wanted two years ago," but that was to fill a minimum roster, not to build quality depth. I hope an extra week of practice for MTSU with backups getting 1st team reps in practice will help the O and D lines.

I would rather pull out all the stops for the C-USA championship game. I feel that winning that is far more important than a random bowl game in Shreveport or Boca Raton. I would have been okay with resting people for last weekend in preparation for this week.

I feel like recruits are much more interested in joining the C-USA Champion UAB Blazers than the Cheribundi Tart Cherry Bowl Champion UAB Blazers

High ankle sprains are slow to heal, and hard to play on.
Winning CUSA is a meaningful goal. Winning a bowl game is not
Winning CUSA would put us in a more meaningful bowl game.

What we do in that bowl game wouldn't really matter as much.
Winning cusa is a lot more important IMO

Agreed. Hopefully the time off before a bowl game would allow guys even more time to heal up though.
I really hope we have Johnson back. FWIW, he didn’t look that injured to me. He had a nice long pass on each of his drive that hit our receiver in the hands and was dropped. One of those looked to be a 30-40 yard gain. The other was at least a first down.
Could be a case of where Clark didn't want Johnston to get F-ed up due to our O line play.
Brontae Harris indicated on Twitter that he would be back this week.

Agreed.
