Miles Fox just posted on his Instagram that he will be grad transferring to Wake Forest. I wish him the best and thank him for what he did here at Old Dominion.

Cannot fault him for that. I wish him well.

However, that may be the final death knell to our already-depleted-to-almost non-existence defensive line

Whomever comes in as DC will likely need some time and for our own sanity, we will need some patience.

FWIW I have not heard of players getting the boot. But, I have been told to expect BW to be less lenient apparently like he was in the beginning. The pendulum swings back...

Meanwhile UNC fired its HC Saturday night and had its new coach Monday morning.

This is an excellent hire, for the program in it's entirety.
Behold, all of the UNC scandals, including the football players selling their shoes.
Fedora saying that concussion protocols were symptomatic of the decline in today's society.
The endzone fiasco with NC State in which he emulated a Holocaust denier by refusing to acknowledge that it happened.
Fedora was a liability above and beyond.

The contrast between Brown and Fedora could not be more glaring.
Mack Brown is clean and has won big in his career.
Mack is a former UNC coach "come home".
Mack' reputation and smooth confident demeanor will appeal to old and young donors alike.
Mack Brown will not hurt recruiting.
Mack Brown will not be erratic.
Mack Brown will not likely incur the scrutiny of the NCAA.

The real issue is this. Mack is old(er) school whose methods likely cannot win in today's game. That was already becoming apparent while he was still at Texas.
IF, he can get by his ego (and I have no idea if he has a big one or not), then he will hire assistants that can win for him.
He will initially have the luxury of the support of the powers-that-be for whatever he wants, and UNC has the resources to make that happen.

This could be win win if Brown hires the best assistants and let's them "have at it"

Got Army DC Bateman and I heard Lonnie Galloway from Louisville as OC. Bateman's a great hire; Galloway I'm not familiar with. Also have Thigpen and Brewster who are both fantastic recruiters.

Had their first OVs this wknd: 5 commits incl 2 flips, one from PSU and the other from App. Kids are buying in.

Years ago I had season tix bc they were the closest P5 and **** Tech. I still have friends there and they are excited.

This program, like UNC, has tons of potential but here it is being-held back by short-sightedness and closed-mindedness. An influx of P5 thought would do wonders. Instead, it's driven away. Wilder would do well to bring in a well-travelled DC ***and*** OC and listen to what they have to say.
Ive heard there are aignificant losses. Fox certainly qualifies.
Could we really be much worse all things considered? We probably just need to prepare for more of the same or some big juco impact or transfers.

Posted from mobile device. Hopefully it's coherent.

Also hired Dre Bly to work with the DB's.

Well I guess that narrows it down to 4 teams. THINGS ARE LOOKING UP!02-13-banana

Could you define this (ETA: I'm not making fun of your typing)? Fox made an affirmative choice to move on (from what I understand) which is different from "players getting the boot".

And in all honesty if they are not renewing schollies, it might be too early for that. I have to think they'd want the new staff involved in evaluating who stays and who goes.

ETA aside from academic issues, etc
Cut the G D cord already! What else needs to happen??
