East beat Calloway (MS) last night 69 to 52

Wiseman had 29 points, 14 rebounds, 4 blocks

Dandridge had 10 points and 20 rebounds
Next year is going to be so fun!

Enjoyed watching them last year. I need to go catch them some this year. Fun group to watch over at East. The talent in this city is fun every year honestly. Great to see that we have the connection to between Memphis HS and UofM hoops mended. Opens a lot of doors.

Come check em out tomorrow night. They play Raleigh Egypt at East. I’m going to check them out as much as possible, especially on nights the Tigers don’t play. They are lots of fun to watch.
I have been saying this for years, rebounding carries over. If you are a good rebounder in highschool you will be a good rebounder in college. Dandridge will be a good rebounder when he gets here.

Also carries over from college to the NBA. Blocked shots even more so, a sign of athleticism, timing and instinct. Steals too.

I've seen Dandridge listed everywhere from 6'6 to 6'9. Does anyone know how tall he actually is?

6'6 is big enough to play inside in college if you're good enough, and I'm thrilled he's a Tiger, just curious.

It's so hard to get accurate height measurements. Every school inflates heights, as do the players and entourages. And then some measure with shoes on. The AAU camps and the NBA combine are the best ways to get non-BS measurements, imo. These were Malcolm's about 17 months ago.

Nike Elite 100 Camp Measurements:

Date Measured: June, 2017
Height w/o Shoes: 6'6"
Weight: 247 pounds
Wingspan: 7'4"

I agree with this 100%. He boxes out well. If he has you boxed out, it’s going to be his rebound. Period. He’s very strong, has good hands, and a knack for knowing where the ball is going to be.

the duo of Wiseman and Dandridge is potent. They miss Lomax though because the current guards aren’t near as good at getting them the ball down low.

He looks taller than 6’6 to me. But maybe that’s right. How tall is DJ Jeffries? Because he’s taller than Jefferies.

that measurement is 1.5 years ago. he could easily be 6-8 or 6-9 now
I just talked to a friend and he told me that Dandridge himself told him he’s 6’8. And looking at a picture of Dandridge, Jeffries, and Wiseman he’s not a whole lot shorter than Wiseman. I’d say he may be closer to 6’9.

I said it was from 17 months ago. True, he looks taller because he is taller in his shoes. I don’t know how tall he is now, but I wouldn’t trust anything we hear. It’s just really hard to get reliable data.
From Evan Daniels on Twitter tonight:

“Getting first look at James Wiseman since July. One half in & he’s playing as hard as I’ve seen him. Rim running, blocking shots, getting on the glass & posting hard. Spirited effort.”

Paul Biancardi said the same thing with short version. Dickie V got involved about Memphis looking forward to Wiseman next year.
Chick Fil-A Classic
Memphis East Stunned At Buzzer

Adrian Baldwin hit a 3-pointer with two seconds remaining to rally St. Frances Academy (MD) for a thrilling 59-58 victory over Memphis East Thursday night in the final contest in the first round of the National Bracket.

The Panthers forced a turnover with five seconds to go to get the ball back under their own basket. The pass was thrown inbounds to Baldwin, who drained a shot with a hand in his face.

St. Frances trailed 33-23 at the half but chipped away and finally took the lead on the final shot by Baldwin.

James Wiseman, the No. 1 ranked prospect in the 2019 Class that’s signed with Memphis, scored 25 points with 16 rebounds and six blocks for Memphis East. Malcolm Dandridge added 11 points and eight rebounds.

St. Frances will play St Benedict’s Prep at 5:25 p.m. in one National Bracket semifinal. Memphis East will face Hillcrest Prep in a consolation game at 6:25 p.m. on Friday.

Dude can ball
Wiseman selected as MOP of Chic-fil-A Classic in South Carolina (tournament had Anthony Edwards, Kyree Walker, etc). He had a monster tournament.

Saw Dandridge this summer and he was about the same hight as DJ. This is going to sound strange but he kind of has a short neck. His standing reach is probably comparable to someone 3-4 inches taller than him.

He's a great rebounder. Not necessarily a high flier. but he can go get the ball.

Dandridge didn't start on team with Wiseman, DJ and Lawson on the front line in AAU....he is so much better than Enoh though....I see him as a much better Arthur Barclay....similar to Marvin Alexander.

There is a big gap between the skills of Barclay and Alexander who would have been a top 10 all scorer had he stayed. Tremendous moves in the post and mean as a junkyard dog. A bigger and tougher Omar Sneed but played on a top 10 team his last full season.
