After taking a 12 point lead, I was very excited about how the team was playing. As the game slowly slipped away it was a little disappointing. But, I must say this team was inspired and had the instinct to win and did what was needed to get the Victory. I not only have to give credit to the team but Coach, as well. That showed a lot of heart and was an inspired Victory Good Luck today Ladies, proud to be a Monarch.

I think if Coach can recruit a stronger post player with some size for next year that will be a major factor in this team moving to the next level and returning to where Monarch fans will see the type of improvement that we have all hoped for in the last 10 years. . This team is on their way. A few more missing pieces and The Lady Monarchs will be be back. WTG Coach and a young aggressive team of women with heart. Make it 5 - 1 after today.

Todays opponent, Tennessee Tech is a very good team. They beat MTSU earlier this season. I also think the UAB women's team maybe the best they have been in many years and appear to be the class of CUSA this year. They took a ranked Tennessee women's team to the wire the other night and just missed pulling off the upset in Knoxville.

Just a few other notes of Interest about WBB. Western Kentucky's WBB lost to Oklahoma in a early season match up - Oklahoma W, 90-83 over Western Kentucky. The UAB's women beat Oklahoma the game before losing to #11 Tennessee in OT. UAB lead the entire game till it was tied and went into OT. Oklahoma L, 84-89 UAB. UAB is among the highest scoring in Division I, with UAB averaging 85 points per game The Blazers are holding opponents to just 53.3 points perngame.
Lady Monarchs 40 36 over Tenn Tech at the half. Tenn Tech has been bailed out with a ton of foul shoots and making almost all of them. If not for the fouls Tech would not be in this game. Ok Lady Monarchs bring this one home.

03-thumbsup
Young ODU Ladies having a good season so far. Beat Tennessee Tech to go to 5-1.
ODU wins over Tennessee Tech 80 - 73 Tech went to the line 36 times making 28 points at the line. WOW! ODU 22 of 27 from the line, not bad for the ladies. ODU now going 5 -1 in the 2018-19 season. We now head back to Norfolk to take on Longwood on Thur 11/29 11:00am in the Education game. WTG Lady Monarchs! Nice to say the Women won again, feels like old times. 04-rock04-cheers

Thanks for the stat link. Often difficult to see the stats quickly after the game. Great to have Monarch 5-1 after first six games. Seems that a different player steps up each game or so to lead the team. Nice to see Carter lead this game and the Jacksonville tussle. Only concern is the fouls. Don’t know if the team can continue to put the opponent at the line so often and still come out ahead. And, personally, I hate to see a foul shooting contest when I come to see a basketball game.

That reminds me: Are they the Lady Monarchs or just the Monarchs?
They kinda did a half change last season and it resulted in a good bit of confusion. Not sure if they officially coalesced around something.
Monarchs.
I have a feeling we will see more championships from this group of ladies. It might take a year or two but this core group has what it takes.
I’m going to have to attend a game now that they’re watchable again. Well done Coach Mccray!
Was a great trip. The ladies played really well this weekend. Some learning moments for sure but a young young team “won” the tournament. The foul calling today was absolutely embarrassing to the game of basketball. The group of ODU fans didn’t let the refs off the hook, we rode them the entire game!
Deja Carter played out of her mind this weekend. Surely if they had awarded a MVP of the Tournament, it would have been her. Hopefully, she has found her game and we will hear a lot more from her. The great thing is how our usual leading scorers can have an off night and other girls are stepping right up to fill the void. This is the most balanced team in a very long time.

The foul calling this year, in general, has been mind numbing. The first game of the season, I think, there were over 60 fouls called in 40 minutes! Today there were over 40.

Thanks to the fans who were there to represent! If the NC State game were Saturday, instead of Sunday, I'd take advantage of the free bus ride to go. I work Sundays and we are so short staffed currently, that there's no way I can get off. I am going to try to take a long lunch Thursday to get out to the Education Day game. If you've never been to one, you should go. It's a lot of fun and quite a spectacle to see (and hear) all those kids cheering. Ice Cream and Cake is fantastic!
