So has anyone DEFINITIVELY figured out what will happen with the tie breakers if FIU wins tomorrow?
If FIU wins, they are the East winner. If they lose, MT will rematch us.

If we win, we definitely host. If we lose and FIU loses, we will have to go back to MT.

If we lose and FIU wins, we will very likely host by virtue of the computer rankings, although it’s not 100% certain.

I’m personally pulling for FIU to win, eliminating MT and resulting in a Blazer victory.
If FIU loses and we win wouldn’t we still play FIU

Therefore, we could host if our College Playoff rankings were higher than theirs before the last game of the season ( according to what the CUSA playoff scheme appears to indicate) regardless of how we fare against MTSU... Am I right about this???

I started that discussion here :

It is us going back to MTSU if we lose to MTSU, Thus giving MTSU the advantage in the head to head game.

OR

We host FIU if FIU wins their last 2 and we beat MTSU.

OR

We host MTSU if we beat MTSU and FIU loses their last two.

OR

We host MTSU if we beat MTSU, and Marshall wins their last two, forcing a 3 way tie in the East, that would eliminate FIU first as they would be 4-2 in the east, and MU & MTSU 5-1. Then MTSU would have won the head to head.

OR

We host FIU if we beat MTSU, and FIU loses to UTSA and beats Marshall. FIU won the head to head game against MTSU.

I think you are missing the situation with who the champion of the East would be if FIU wins their next 2 games,, then even if we lose to MTSU, FIU would still be the east champion since they already beat MTSU... right??? Then, the question would be who hosts , given that UAB and FIU would both have 7-1 records. According to my take on that, UAB might host based on us maybe still having the highest national rank...
Or the easiest way to figure it out is wait a few hours and it will be announced

11/17:
Marshall beats UTSA
FIU beats Charlotte
11/24:
Marshall beats FIU
UAB beats Middle Tennessee

None of those would be a big shock. If it goes down like that, then final Eastern Div. standings are

FIU 6-2, loss to Marshall
Marshall 6-2, loss to MTSU
MTSU 6-2, loss to FIU

At that point, I think FIU gets scratched because they’re 4-2 against all Eastern Div. teams, while Marshall and MTSU both 5-1. Then Marshall gets scratched because of head-to-head loss to MTSU (at the Joan, no less).
Looks like FIU doesn't want to play in the championship game.

Marshall leads 21-10.

FIU has had a pick-6 against them, 2 missed FGs, and a blocked punt against them returned for a TD...
what happen if fiu lose and mt lose

3-way tie. Each has a victory over and a loss to the other two.

MTSU and Marshall would be 5-1 in the East division, and FIU would be 4-2. This would eliminate FIU.

Then MTSU would hold the tie breaker over WKU in the 2-way tie, via the head to head victory.

MTSU would come to Birmingham.
Looks like we will be going back up there next week.
