LSU starts : Fr, Fr, Fr, So, Jr

Memphis starts: Fr, Fr, Sr, Sr, Sr (I assume Parks will start)

Our freshmen played against their freshmen on the AAU circuit their whole high school careers. They're not going to be intimidated.

I do think the line is wrong. LSU -6.5 probably better. But betting on college basketball is not for me.

LSU is crazy talented; the Naz Reid/Emmitt Williams combo should be something special to go with Tremont Waters. The Javonte Smart kid is supposed to be good as well. Wade has an embarrassment of riches down there this season.

last year they were a really good offensive team that wasn't particularly interested in playing defense and in their first two games this season they have been much better at scoring than defending. That's the key for them - can he get these guys to play defense at a high level.

But there is no shame in losing at LSU this year, or being a 10.5pt road dog to them. None of that is to say Memphis can't win there, its a college basketball game - anything can happen and y'all are catching them early which is good as well.

They struggled against UNC Greensboro the other night - course Greensboro hit 19 threes.

This morning Wolo said Bartow took the 72/73 team down there to open the new arena and got beat by 30.

Didnt they have the #5 ranked class with those freshmen?
I know Reid was high but dont know the rankings of the others .

But they are RANKED!!!! Second week of season but they are RANKED!

LSU is very talented and the team with the most talent usually wins. Penny is in the process of upgrading our talent.

That team started the season 2-3 and made it to NC game. Nobody panicked as they do now with constant media and social media scrutiny. Some strong teams can overcome it.

Again first true road game for an inexperienced team against a highly regarded opponents. They may win but the line is fair.

I see people jumping up and down in this thread saying the line is wrong...That would seem like easy money

i figured the line would be 12, we probably should be 15 point underdogs to a ranked team on the road



as many have stated:

they have more talent
they have more experience.

our coaches 2nd game at the collegiate level
both of our guards are playing their first away game.

i wont be surprised if it is close but I will not be surprised at all ifit is 20pts +

They are talented, but they are not as good as Vegas is making them out to be. They score alot, but their D is atrocious. Over 2 games, they have given up an average of 77 points (gave up 91 points to UNCG and only won by 6). We have streaky guys. All it takes is for one of em to get hot, and we could end up beating them. I am predicting we win 92-88 in a shoot out.

Agreed. They will probably have 3 of the top 4 players across the two rosters 2 of those 3 players face off against our weakness.

We are going to need huge games from Martin+Davenport and need one of the freshman to have a big game to have a chance in this one.

Well, I was going to say that we might have a fighting chance and this could be the massive first step in an incredible journey....

However, they are "RANKED" and early season polls are always correct. Teams never overlook other teams or get beat because the unranked teams plays harder. Tigers by 12.


On a serious note, Parks coming back definitely helps. The only thing that would've been better is had Lance been cleared to play. Their size does scare me a little, but our potential to get hot from outside is a neutralizer.
