IS EMU vs DUKE on tv Wednesday?

Per the schedule, ESPN3.
I checked my DirecTV receiver.

It will be carried on a number of Fox Sports Channels, but not in Michigan (I think).

Amazing the best coverage appears to be in Ohio with multiple channels carrying it.

I believe RSN = Regional Sports Network

Agreed sadly, but basketball struggles in Metro Detroit regardless of level unless MIchigan is final four good. Seems to have been an exponential drop off last 20 years. all about the loser lions!

The big problem is that Fox Sports Detroit does the Tigers, Wings, Pistons, etc.

Wednesday night will be Pistons vs. Raptors.

The Fox Sports network channels which are open are picking up the game.
Not looking forward to this one. If we make some shots and limit turnovers, we could make it pretty respectable, as that would force Duke to play against our half court defense. Coach K has struggled against the 2-3 in the past, and a team full of freshmen might not be used to it. But if we turn it over a bunch and allow Duke to push the tempo, we could lose by 50.

Duke is ridiculously good, with two guys that will be top 3 draft picks and another that will probably go in the lottery. I'm not going to draw many conclusions from this game, as they will likely be blowing out a lot of teams this year.
I will be watching it on the ACCN Extra channel. This can be streamed from the WatchESPN app or desktop version.

EDIT:

I use Playstation Vue for my cable coverage. I just looked at the schedule for 11/14 and it shows the game will be shown on Fox Sports Plus. This channel is usually used to show Pistons, Wings, and Tigers games when there are 2 on the same night. The Pistons play that night but the Wings do not.

Sam,

Agree that Duke is very good but I'm really not sure if they're really a national title contender yet. UofM went to the finals last year and most people on this forum believe we would match up with them.....SMH.

If we keep the score under 30 points, I believe we could win the west. If we lose by 40-50 points, I believe that would translate to a 2nd or 3rd place MAC West finish.

Sam you are spot on about Duke, they are incredibly talented. At Cameron Indoor we would apparently have little chance.

This is a learning experience. Our previous three opponents were decent shooters but did not have an abundance of size or speed and we played them at home. That changes on Wednesday night. We will find out how good Toure really is. We should discover how we stack up against great athletes before we open up the MAC with Buffalo's thoroughbreds. I'm not worried about the scoring margin. Duke drilled Kentucky by 34 on a neutral floor after all.

They are 100% a national title contender. They have a chance to not lose a game and be the first since Bobby Knights Hoosiers in 1976. Even if it takes them more time to gel as a team, they have enough individual firepower to beat anyone any night.

Also Luckey, as much as we all want this to be a barometer game for us, one game in the most hostile of environments against the #1 team will not be a great indication of how we will do in the MAC.

I think Murphy should take the air out of the ball and slow it down Big Time. Use every second of the shot clock. That's how he had upset wins his first few years. Screw the up-tempo and only push the ball up the floor when there is a clear advantage on a break.

You bring up some good points but I disagree. I think we need to play 10 games before we start annointing actual title contenders. Duke might win it all or they might be a top 10 team that doesn't reach the final 4.Duke was ranked #1 last year too but Villanova won the championship followed by UofM. MSU was ranked #2 last year but really underachieved. When Villanova won the championship recently, they did so with very good experienced players that were somewhat unheralded at the beginning of the season but ended up with multiple NBA draft picks. Is there another Villanova out there? When Buffalo beat Arizona last year (they were the #1 overall seed) they beat a team that had the #1 overall draft pick. I am certainly using this game as a barometer on how well we will do this year. Not only score but how much fight do we have in us. Ife lose by 50 points, then in all likelihood we will not be MAC champs. If we make it respectable say 20-30 point loss on the road then we may have a chance at getting the MAC a second bid.

I do believe Buffalo could keep it 20-30 point game and hopefully we do too.
Villanova was ranked in the top 5 going into last season, with a couple stud players (Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges) who had already won a title back in 2016. They weren’t unheralded at all.
Wonder if JTIV will play out of his mind good against a future top 5 pick. $$$ game for program, players and the coach. Play Awesome could lead to some opportunities down the road.
Duke giving 22.5 pts to EMU. I would be happy with a 22 point loss.
I believe Duke best Army by 20 points on Saturday.

I wonder if EMU is playing to win??

I just checked my TV, and it will be shown on Fox Sports Detroit Plus for the Detroit area. For Wowway cable, that is Channel 221 (195 non-HD). Not sure what channel that is for Comcast, directTV, etc.
Yeesh. Not looking forward to this root canal.
Outside perspective on EMU from Toledo fan who watches many EMU games.

This could be a reasonably close game if EMU avoids turnovers. The zone should slow the game down and force Duke to make jump shots. They have shooters so that shouldn't be a huge challenge but they are a young team that wants to run. If EMU can avoid sloppy play and make Duke beat the zone the game becomes interesting because EMU can do 1 thing most mid majors cannot against a top opponent - rebound. The best scenario is Duke isn't shooting that well and gets impatient and forces some things against the zone. If that happens EMU could hang around, and if Minnie has one of his in the zone games they could shock the college hoops world My concern is that EMU doesn't run good offense and if Jackson is not on top of his game they will have trouble scoring and creating open shots. Toure is a great addition but now EMU has to realize they have 2 interior finishers and rebounders and their best offense outside of Minnie getting hot is to attack the rim and dish or get the ball on the glass with JT4 and Toure crashing. Too much of Parrish, Groce, etc... trying to score will be inefficient and hurt them. Good luck. Cameron is an experience. UT played there about 15 years ago and ran out to a big early lead before Duke gathered and took over and won by 17 or something. Was fun for a minute. I think the Rockets Allen Pinson might still hold the Cameron block shots record. He had like 9 in that game.

The MAC is barely on the sports radar in MI.

According to my DirecTV on-screen guide, tonight's game will be shown across many channels within the U.S., including Fox Sports Detroit for locals in MI.

See many other locations, esp. Ohio, New England, Florida, etc.

If we play well, folks across the nation will see it...
