Because Utah State is an over rated fraud as is the entire mwc. The media wants to "wish" them into being some type of "g5" western equivalent to the AAC, like the pac12 to the SEC. In truth CUSA is a deeper, more consistent and overall tougher league. I mean really who has USU beaten. Congrats UAB it's about time the pollsters recognized you guys and in a way have given your conference schedule some legitimacy. I honestly think that the CUSA would dominate the mwc in a conference vs conference challenge.

Congrats to UAB on getting into the Top 25. The UAB fans really deserve this after the Ray Watts bull****.

We were in the BCS top 25 in the mid 2000’s (I think it was 2004) for 1 week. IIRC, even that week we weren’t in the AP or Coaches though.

UABGrad is exactly right.

UAB was ranked #24 in the very first-ever BCS rankings, which were published on 18th October 2004, after the games of Saturday, 16th October. UAB was 5-1, but was not in the Top 25 of either the AP or the Coaches’ Poll. They finished the season 7-5.

I believe that this ranking today is the Blazers’ first appearance in the national polls since then. I’m hoping they’ll be in the Top 20 in January after the bowls are done. I think they have a good chance.
