Where would we be with out Neal Neathery??? He is no longer our secret. I was hoping that we'd win the MAC this year and promote him to be head coach when Creighton goes P5.

Just think back to the McCaslin days! McCaslin was actually a great guy, but defense was just horrible.
Spent 1 year as Buffalo defensive assistant and now the head coach at Benedictine.
https://thecandor.wordpress.com/2018/04/...all-coach/

Program was 7-3 in 2017. Currently 2-7 https://benueagles.com/schedule.aspx?path=football
In 7 losses defense has given up 55,39,42,48,50,52,41 04-jawdrop

Certainly hope Neathery doesn't get plucked this year, but it's a distinct possibility. MAJOR loss for Creighton and the EMU program if/when it happens.

This is where Creighton is at his biggest disadvantage. If word got out that EMU had given Neathery a good size raise to keep him, all the EMU football haters (faculty, local media, ljmhurons, etc,etc.....) would all have a 03-hissyfit

The faculty is having issues closer to home right now with embezzlement in their union. I suspect as a result they may be far less activist, at least in the near term.

ETough/Jerry,

It would be very, very important to make Neathery perhaps the highest paid DC in the conference. Would this be an additional $100-$150k? Looking at the past two seasons, we have not lost to anyone by more than 7 points. If our offense we're slightly better than average, we would be looking at Back to Back MAC Champions and all of the benefits the exposure would bring. If Neathery gets plucked, it could undo all of the ground Creighton has taken and slide us backwards.

I believe we win our next two games and become bowl elgible. If that happens, we need Glass healthy and a bowl win. If all of this happens, we may be favored to win the 2019 MAC West!

Go Eagles!

I cannot disagree with anything you said Luckey.
I was listening to an interview on 1130AM with Tom Allen the HC at Indiana who coached under Creighton(Wabash and Drake) a few times before they played MSU.

He said "he is the best team-builder he has ever been around."

What I'm saying is, if Crieghton stays and we lose Neathery, Creighton seems to have a lot of coaches that he can draw from because of his extensive background in being a head coach. It's not some assistant that has only coached positionally for 5 years. Dude has developed and seen many guys come and go. I have full faith that Keen is next to be fired to bring in someone that can take us over the top much like Neatery has with the defense.

Don't pay Neathery, he's not worth it! Fire Creighton, he makes too much! 03-hissyfit
