He opened the scoring on the first possession by getting fouled on a low post move. Made both foul shots. Just made a couple more baskets to put them up 8-0 and has a couple blocks already just 2:10 into the game. Old Dominion has been mentioned 3 times already.
He just got injured. Not sure how serious but he definitely limped off the court.
Finished 9/7 in 22 mins
Any Technicals?

what a pity.
The only real notable thing from the game is he started out out and then sort of disappeared. Had a weird collision with an opponent where he kind of pinned the dudes arm down and then took forever to get up. It was more odd than anything, couldn't tell if malicious.

I saw the play...I'm guessing you could probably tell.

And if you couldn't you can infer... because it was Trey.

I hope it didn't hurt too bad.... when she fell from heaven
Are we going to have a new thread for every game he plays there? Please say no.

I know. It sucks the most for Travis Fields.

One game does not a season make. Why all the hate directed towards an ODU grad? I just thought that it was noteworthy that a graduate transfer from ODU was starting right away for one of the top rated teams. It certainly got the school some name recognition on national TV last night.
It's the same kind of exposure as Liberty got after we beat VT in football after how many times the talking heads said we lost to them. Saying "Old Dominion" in the context of a place to transfer away from isn't doing us any favors.

I don't hate Trey. He did everything he had to do here. He got it done on the court and in the classroom. I hope he does well there.

But your thread title would lead most to assume we will have different threads for every Nevada game, which would be awful when we could just have one singular thread.

Old Dominion losing in football to Liberty this season followed by a string of additional losses is certainly bad and speaks for itself. They earned any negative comments they got due to that.

Trey Porter transferring from ODU to the 7th ranked team in college basketball - especially as a graduate transfer - is not nearly the same thing. In today's world pretty much all college basketball teams frequently have transfers, both coming and going. If it was some big negative to say that so and so transferred from any school then all schools would be negative in that regard. ODU has recently gotten transfers from LSU, Pitt, Wake Forrest, UVA, ECU, etc. for example. I think that what Trey showed by moving on to start for a talented and highly rated Nevada team is that ODU had some pretty good players on their team last season.

Most would have assumed wrong then.

Again, the story was that it was Trey's first game since he played for ODU earlier this year, and that he was good enough to start in the season opener for the nation's 7th ranked team that returned a lot of talent and has a deep bench. I had thought that he would get significant minutes at Nevada this season, but probably do so coming off the bench. Personally I thought it spoke well for both him and for ODU (that ODU had such talented players).
Speaking of former players:

The November stakes have been raised for Iowa State.

ISU won its season-opener on Tuesday, topping Alabama State by the score of 79-53, but the more significant news was made by coach Steve Prohm after the game.

Cameron Lard, a preseason all-Big 12 honorable mention pick, and Zoran Talley, Jr., a senior wing, will both be suspended for the season’s first month.
