Pretty good press conference from both the question and answer standpoints.

I love how he simply answers the question. None of the coach talk, beating around the bush, just answers like normal people having a conversation.

Couldn't agree more. Refreshing.
Great presser. He knows what he’s doing. Also, I loved hearing him say he likes to let guys play through mistakes, instead of yanking them out as a form of punishment. I really like that.
Not a bit of "coach speak" in the whole interview. Just straight facts and how they see things. I'm gonna like Penny as a coach. Dude knows the game...
I just realized something. I think this is the FIRST U of M Press Conference I have ever heard where....I could actually hear the questions clearly. In all previous press conferences...I would hear the answer but the question was presented by someone who did not have a microphone and you reallly had to kind of guess what the question was by the answer the coach gave. So, whoever got this corrected...thanks!! Maybe it is not the first but....I sure remember listening to way to many where I never heard the questions being asked.

Me too.
Interesting tha Coach P states that he “ Is more defensive minded” 04-jawdrop especially with the offensive arsenal that he possessed as a player... On another note.... If there is an award for “Sharpest Dressed Coach” there would be NO OTHER COMPETITION..... 01-ncaabbs That suit combination was en fuego!!!!! DAYUM

:pbjtime:Could be the result of several of us posting about this very thing lately of never being able to hear the questions. I even suggested maybe one of the cheerleaders could walk around with a microphone in their hand to give it to whoever had the next question.
Killer jacket. Old school
So refreshing to watch. We are in good hands.
Like night and day. Enjoyable.
For the most part, thoughtful questions, too. Except for the guy who asked if Penny thought he was finished tinkering with the starting lineup.
Thanks for sharing!

Penny is so comfortable in his own skin. Everything seems to be on the surface with him. He listens to the question. And he answers the question. His answer isn't full of BS to direct you towards something else. It's refreshing to say the least.
Love it. He has really matured since his college days. He represents the university well. No coach speak and you can see what he's talking about.

Absolutely, refreshing, night and day from last year. I think he's the first coach since Dana Kirk that appears to tell it like it is and actually answer the question. Loved the way he talked about each player in the radio post-game show too.

Yep.

I hope we all stay on this staffs side instead of second guessing as soon as we lose a game. We don’t need all this Monday morning coaches second n guessing everything. GTG!

Biggest highlight to me from radio show was his comments on Antwann Jones. He said Antwann was their biggest card. They'll keep working with him to get him comfortable and figure out his role. And the way he discussed trying out everything on LO to get it on video so he could watch with the players and show them what they could do to improve.

I thought Jones looked like the most talented player on the court. His short jumper looked great, that bounce pass through traffic on the fast break was spectacular. I liked him a lot.
