I think he has decommitted.
Furlow has left the team also. Walkon Chris Tucker and Chris Noble played in the season opener. No mention of Matt Williams the other center commit.
Thanks. Corrected.

No problems, I like it when you do this look ahead to next year thing.
Are any of these guys on scholarship at guard outside, of Galten? That may be the spot in serious need of jucos.
Every program has some attrition over time due to quitting football, quitting college altogether or transfer to another school. A few get into legal troubles occasionally. Since schools are allowed 25 new scholarships annually (100 in 4 years, 125 in 5) but are limited to keeping only 85 total at a time in the fall, normal attrition is welcome so only a few have to be "fired" to make room for new talent. Most players come to realize that if they want more playing time, they need to look elsewhere.
Dont know who else is scholarship on the OL. Several of our prior OL walkons have moved on since spring. Maybe Zach Aylor is scholarship, but not confirmed. Andrew Smith could move to guard since Dufour returns foe a ninth season next year.

The three most important 2019 recruiting needs appear to be guard, WR and rush ends/LBs. Tackles on both sides are always important.

Again, I think this staff recruits phenomenally, but havent seen quite as much line talent on the offensive side of the ball yet. Our running game is solid and our line is playing well in general (top three rush offense in league and best in preventing sacks) but even this year we are not as consistent on the ground and are getting stuffed often on short yardage, especially fourth and one. Not as much violent push across the line as i would like to see. Happened again on Saturday with Stanley on fourth and one, as it did the week before with Brown. With those big backs we should have a higher conversion %. A little thing but may cost us down the road.

OL and WR look like big gaps.
Yes. But maybe the two guys named Davis and TD Marshall will step up at WR. We know Parham and Watkins can play but we need a half dozen more who can both block and catch. I was hoping that one or two of the really fast freshmen DBs might find their way to the WR room. There was talk at one time of Starling Thomas playing both ways. Maybe? The kid named Xavier is even faster.

I think we may blueshirt some offensive recruits. I'm not sure who. Last couple of classes all blueshirts has been on the defensive side of the ball.
Thanks for the links :). Know of any sites where people like to actually talk about UAB football?

Markus Grossman is also committed. 5’10” 180 JUCO WR from Fullerton College in Calif.

Highlights

I’m curious as to whether or not we will see WRs Sederian Copeland and Jonathan Haden back next year. Both are dealing with injuries. Maybe they could apply for a medical waiver like Tyler Johnston did this past season?

Neither have played through the first 6 games but are still with the team.
Also keep an eye on Myron Mitchell. He is a former Texas Tech commit and was supposed to sign with UAB last spring. Has struggled with academics but is now clear. His Twitter bio says “UAB Football” and I’ve seen him actively recruiting others to UAB fairly recently.

Point is, I think there’s a reason why we don’t have more WR commits. There’s probably some combination of guys who are silent commits and others whom we expect to graduate but could get a medical waiver. I don’t have insider information; these are just my opinions.
Zack Aylor is interesting. He’s from the same high school as Garrett Marino. His UABSports bio says he picked UAB over Cornell and Michigan. I’m guessing he’s a preferred walk on that’s redshirting this year?
I hope we get Lee witherspoon at RB.
Ive wondered the same about Haden. I thought Copeland had played early.
It would be a boost to have either. Copeland has some speed amd looked dangerous at times last year.

do you know if the new four game redshirt rule is retroactive to last year?
If so we may also have some other seniors on defense that can return since some of them played in less than four games last year. Bentley Easley comes to mind. I think he played in only the bowl game last year.

I think we would have to arm wrestle two SEC schools in MS to land him. He would be the class jewel, though.
