As it so often is, this game is their entire season. It is what saved Bono's job last year. This is all they have left this year.

Let's tear out their hearts and bring back those trophies.
Yep, this will be their “salvage the season” game and play spoiler.

Throw out the records on this one. No ‘chilling and relaxing’ on the sidelines this year. Gotta put them away.
We need to finally have that "put it all together" game against the chips... If that happens.. we just kill them. HOWEVER... i think its going to be a battle.

I think this team is pissed about what happened last year and will grind them into a pulp. They are due to start out hot.
CMU, meet John Wassink.
Chimps will get up for this game and will be a battle.

Like you guys said in previous posts, we need to start out hot and burry them early.

I would love to see a 2016 repeat where they had just come off that miracle win over Oklahoma state and we took them behind the woodshed for a good ole fashion butt kicking
We've got to more than match their intensity. Our guys got to realize they are playing for something and the dudes in maroon want nothing more than to ruin that for us.
Remember 2000....not this year.

In the post game interview with Lester, he said "I thought about the Central game every day since last year". We need to "put it all together" for this game. This is their season!!!
With the two trophies we can become bowl eligible and ruin Central’s chance as well.

We don't have a chance in hell for a bowl. Enjoy the trophies.

Is Bono done?
Hopefully our defense doesnt make the Chimps offense look like theyre top in the MAC, the only offense we have shut down this whole year was Delaware State
We need to win back the cannon, then steam clean it and put it back in the Bill Brown Alumni Center-behind glass. Bono has been sleeping with it for a year.

In all seriousness, Lester knows what this game means to Western fans. He knows the CMU rivalry and he experienced the bitterness of last year's loss. The Defense better be ready on Saturday, they better not start like they did at BGSU. That is unacceptable.

Esposito and Daoust better have their squads ready to defend the long pass, no more excuses.

Fine as long as you're willing to give up short or even intermediate completions unless we can stop the run with only seven in box and rush the passer with four.
I honestly don't have a problem basically playing the opposite of "bend but don't break". Got burned a few times but 35 points in a game with that many possessions isn't completely awful. The aggressive defensive philosophy is forcing some mistakes.

What kept that game close was 4 early trips deep into BGSU territory yielding 0 points.

He's coming off an 8-win season, has a $1.25 million buyout, and a new AD who just signed him to an extension thru (I think) 2022.

CMU is hurting financially, they can't afford to pay him to go away even if they finish 1-11 this year.

Their conundrum is they're trying to raise around $30m to build a new football facility in north end zone (replace the tool shed).
Looks like WMU -5 at CMU.

Seems slim. But Vegas is catching on that we don't blow out inferior opponents. And it's a "throw out the records" arch-rivalry game.
There are so many bad memories of that place from the early 90's through the 2000's. We've been great up there lately, though!
The MAC's social media manager has time-traveled from the future to inform us of our victory.
