I was there. I was tailgating on the golf course and spoke to UM QB's father. He just said hello, shook my hand and then went into the game. I remember walking through the crowd after the game and Michigan fans were saying "this is worse than losing to Appalachian State." The only day I can remember rooting against Michigan. Greatest Day ever in terms of Rocket Football.

I heard nothing but compliments. As far as "All-time upset," that's nothing but click-bait. It was a thrill. Nice to be in that stadium. Yeah we ended up with... 3 wins? But they'd sucked the year before and had just gotten pummeled by Illinois whose only accomplishment were wins over Eastern Illinois and Louisianna-Lafayette and then UM later lost also to W. Michigan.

Toledo is the ONLY MAC team to beat Michigan. Western Michigan is zero for 6 versus Michigan.

Only MAC team to beat PSU as well, IIRC. But the “only MAC Team to beat UM” holds more cache‘ around these parts.

I wonder why I had that thought.WE lost to WMU? I must have already clicked onto our schedule.

Anyhow, I don't think this win competes for "All-time upset." All FUN upset, that one I could give it, except it wasn't really an upset was it, not in hindsight. Wonder what they were favored by.

In terms of favored by, anyone have ideas what might actually qualify?

Yeah, that’s ludicrous. They even mention the great Miami team that came right after, but not Toledo. I’d say 35-0 was pretty significant.
