Staying downtown tonight. Any recommendations for a beer and sandwich for an old guy?
Brew pub?

Black Cloister is probably closest, on Monroe. Maumee Bay is a few further blocks near the high level bridge. Several eating options there with good atmosphere.

For Mexican/Cuban and great atmosphere (though maybe a line out the door) Poco Loco. Not a brew pub though.

All three of those are very popular.

For a view, the Ranaissance Hotel, though I've never been.
eh, not sure you can get a sandwich at Cloister. Pizza only and I've never had. There are several options around the Ball Park also. Manhattans on Adams, also good but kind of common now a days.

I've not heard bad about pretty much anywhere down there.

Dusty Bird seems appropriate. Thanks to all.

The Marriott/Renaissance has great views and pretty much just sandwiches/wraps/pizza on the menu...
Rockwell’s at the Oliver House has a really good steak, but might not be open till later...
Maumee Bay Brewery is Oliver House? I've never been quite sure how many establishments are there. Went to Rockwell's once. Took some bills but it was worth a one time. I Like just about everything atmosphere there. Summer has that courtyard. I think a rooftop would be about the only thing I can think of that would add. What amazing views THAT would have. Went down to that new Metropark first time. I wasn't expecting much, but it's very nice what they have. Once the Eastside is done with the sewer work, that will be a very healthy walk over one bridge and back the other.

Hope rockytop found the place for him.
