Forgive me for being excited over this, but long have I b!tched about the famed Cincinnati ice cream parlor not having a UC themed flavor. It appears they have finally created one.

But... there's always a catch. The red oreo, red velvet, and chocolate chip ice cream will ONLY be at UC bicentennial events and on campus during homecoming this weekend, but not at their stores. It does say that they will sell it at stores if it proves popular. I'm just trying to post this everywhere I can, hoping it helps.

I’ve only ever been to graters in Columbus. Do they sell buckeye blitz at the Cincinnati locations?

Unfortunately, yes.
That Buckeye Blitz stuff always frosts me over.

To be fair, Buckeye Blitz is really good.

Traitor 03-nerner
The Buckeye Blitz seems to be a homage to the Buckeye Candies and not that school in CowBus. The thought of a Scarlet and Gray Ice Cream is not enticing.

Seems a Red Raspberry and Dark Chocolate for UC would be better than what they whipped up.

That would not be much different than Graeters signature Black Raspberry Chip, and another berry flavor would just get lost on the menu.
Giving away a whole 500 scoops, eh? Hope it doesn't break the bank.

I seem to recall their dopey mascot in a running pose on the pints. Whether that was temporary or not, I'm unsure.

Red velvet with red oreos and some chocolate chips thrown in sounds fantastic. To each his own.

For all of us going to homecoming, we gotta make sure those 500 disappear promptly, and then make a stink that they sold out.

Which I love. 2 scoops of it and a nice glass of Merlot!
Trauth Dairy produced a Bearcat branded ice cream about a decade ago. It was served at University events and placed into limited retail distribution. I think the timing was bad; Trauth had been acquired by an out of town dairy and a very established old local brand eventually just disappeared altogether.

I agree that UC and Graeter's should find a way to get this into retail distribution--even as a seasonal flavor. Better do it before someone on Victory Parkway gets the bright idea to do a disgusting blue blob flavor.
Graeters sucks.

Give me UDF any day of the week.

UDF does have a very good Cherry Cordial. But give me Graeter's for everything else.

Yes, seriously. And I don't care what Oprah thinks.

I prefer ice cream that has flavor and tastes like something other than sugar. I truly think UDF is much better.

If Graeter's refuses to take this to the retail market, UDF seems the natural partner to develop a Bearcat branded product, given the Lindner family relationship with UC. You could get much wider distribution with UDF anyway and this is all about creating more impressions for the brand. And royalties for UC of course.

Take quake!

Udf is good

Greaters is transcendent
UDF uses majority chocolate sauce in their mocha chip while Graeters uses chunks of chocolate with no sauce. Graeters ftw
