What should we expect?

Anything less than a near sellout will be disappointing!

It's Homecoming. UC is 5-0 and a win makes us bowl eligible.
If the game was at 3:30 or 7:00, I'd say a guaranteed sellout with 38,000 in the seats minimum...since it's a noon game, probably somewhere in the low 30's
If the weather will be nice it will sell out.
If the weather is crappy it'll be low 30s.

So you think attendance will be less than the OU game?

Cucurrent forecast 80/63 and sunny
I am taking about 10 usual attendees away to party at the Minster Oktoberfest. You locals will have to make up for the loss :)

Are we talking about announced or in the seats...because there were nowhere near 34,000 in the seats for OU.

Either (or both). I thought it looked pretty full (late Q1l prior to the rain setting in before people hit the concourses. Upper level got pretty close to full.

Agree with Jake, it was pretty full until it started raining. The thing is Ohio brought a few thousand fans dressed in green. Tulane will bring no more than 100. My guess is 36-37,000.
There are a ton of tickets available for the game, unless they sell a bunch throughout this week (maybe a ticket deal upcoming?) they are going to be well under 30k.
Why was it so full for OU? Was it because of Ohio, or honoring the '08 team? Either way I was pleasantly surprised with the crowd before the rain came. Man I hope we sell out Saturday for these guys. I know the noon kick stinks but that's nothing compared to the work this team has put in. Everybody and their cousin in my address book has decided to get married this fall or else I would be there this weekend.
I was one of the 31K+ at the FCC game Saturday night. I was thinking it would be near impossible to get another 7-9K fans in that stadium. There were some empty seats (not many) but also hundreds upon hundreds walking the concourses and hanging out near the railings.

Are they still quoting a 40K capacity for Nippert for football games? I wonder what the real number is.

There was a lot of green at the Ohio game. Guessing they brought 3-4K. There are quite a few Ohio alums that live in Greater Cincinnati-- including a couple neighbors of mine who were there. Stood in line behind a couple at the concession stands and they were not Ohio alums but were there to support Ohio because that is where their daughter is currently attending.

Tulane will likely bring no more than 150 people. That means it is on the UC students, alums and fans to fill the rest of the stadium. I'll be there, but once again I have youth soccer in the morning and will be running into Nippert right at or shortly after kickoff.

For this reason alone , I think you can expect a crowd of around 32k. And looking at the online seat map , I think they will need a good week to get to that.

The $15/$30 ticket deal the AD offered during the week leading up to the OU game helped quite a bit. I had some people coming in from out of town so I bought half a dozen at the $15 level. Early in the week those sections were pretty open by later in the week they'd nearly sold out all of the tickets offered in those sections. So it was clearly effective.
On a separate, but related note, I saw a preview of the Bearcat and Alumni Band's Homecoming program just now... It looks AWESOME.

The UC band is much improved this season and a needed component to building a big-time college football atmosphere. I'll go a step further and say if you agree with this statement and are enjoying what it adds to the gameday experience, send a nominal gift in support of the band through the UC Foundation. I've done that in the past and it's been greatly appreciated.

My lasting memory of when Ohio University visited Nippert prior to this year was their outstanding band. It appears UC's band is now larger and every bit as good.

What are you guys smokin!!!!! The band has come out at halftime twice and stood in one formation and played to the homeside of the stadium. The CCM vocalist was barely heard the first week and completely unheard on the second week. I figured they get that resolved within a week. Not a CCM grad but know a good band show when I see one and haven't seen one from UC's band this season. Had high hopes for Nichter, now I'm not sure. Football team greatly improved in season two, not so for the band.
Well, this whole band thing changes everything for me! I was going to make the trip from North Carolina for the Homecoming game, but now with this news I am rethinking my priorities...:)

It's a good thing I have already bought my plane and game tickets man! I can't wait to see some Bearcat Football live for a change!

Go Bearcats!

My wife think the band is much better since Dr. Terren L Frenz moved to a retirement community.
