Temple Owls (2-2, 1-0) @ Boston College Eagles (3-1, 0-0)
Alumni Stadium, Chestnut Hill, MA
Saturday September 29 12:00 noon
Sunny 70 degrees at kickoff
BC favored by 12.5 points
BC leads series 28-7-2
BC has won the last 5 games from 2000-2004. Temple last won in 1999.
Game storyline focuses on BC head coach Steve Addazio who coached the Owls for 2 years from 2011-2012. His rapid departure and stories that he had accepted the BC job long before the end of his tenure at Temple leave some Owls fans bitter; however, Addazio won Temples second ever bowl win his first year and worked on getting the Owls back to the Big East where they played for one year before that conference became the American.
BC won its first 3 games this year earning a #23 ranking before losing big at Purdue last week. Temple is on a 2 game win streak after an 0-2 start.
Expect BC to stay the course with lots of power running. Temple’s defense shut out a run heavy Maryland team and stayed strong in the red zone against a running Tulsa team. BC is not a strong run defense team should see a lot of Temple plays on the ground. Temple’s starting QB has not been named; starter Frank Nutile is 0-2 and was replaced by Anthony Russo who started the two wins.
