I watched him in practice and told my Dad that he is going to be a stud. Too bad he is going elsewhere. I wish him luck!!

MU linebacker Couch to transfer

The Herald-Dispatch

HUNTINGTON -- Marshall University sophomore linebacker Matt Couch will transfer to another school, university officials announced Monday.

Couch was one of a handful of true freshman to play for the Thundering Herd last season. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Couch played in all 12 games, primarily on special teams, totaling seven tackles with five solos.

The Okeana, Ohio, native was named one of Marshall’s most improved players following spring practice. He was projected to back up middle linebacker Kevin Atkins this season.

Starting linebackers Dionte Wilson, J.T. Rembert and Atkins all return from last season. Couch was expected to join a reserve linebacker unit that included Damarcus Thomas, Carlos Morgan and Bowling Green transfer Jason Kaminski.

It was not immediately known where Couch would transfer.
