Since it is a short week, I think it is a great time to start this thread.
Needless to say, I am not very optimistic of the outcome here. Our O-line is not opening holes and our secondary is not dominating as they were expected to be. Special teams have had kicks blocked in EVERY GAME this season (2 blocked punts returned for TDs and a blocked PAT), have had an onside kick recovered against them.
Before the season, I felt UCF should win a close one. Now I am seeing a UCF win by 2 TDs.
IF we play UCF like we played BCU were gonna get our asses whipped. That being said Im hoping for a great game.

We made sure you got into the MAC and yes, we were the main advocate for UCF to join CUSA back in 2005 as well.

IIRC, Marshall was considering leaving the MAC in 2002 (for what I don't know) and if Marshall had left, it would have put the MAC back at 12 teams and they wouldn't have added UCF. Marshall ultimately decided to remain in the MAC, as the 13t team, and that cleared a path for UCF to join as the 14th and an even number of teams.
That's all I found. I guess that "got us in" but it seemed like Marshall was looking out for its' own interests and decided to stay in the MAC which opened things up for us. I don't know how much lobbying was done there.
As for CUSA- no way. UCF was immediately offered to join CUSA when the Big East sucked up members. I don't buy for a second that we only got an invite because Marshall wanted it.

We had a football only invite to CUSA in 2001. We were trying to work out an Olympic sports home in The Horizon, but couldn’t because they thought we’d be a short time user of them (which probably was true). When we didn’t accept, the concession the MAC made was to add UCF (because Marshall was also pushing an idea for a “skinny” MAC minus a few schools plus UCF.
This is a big game as far as conference bragging rights are concerned. Go Owls.

If we play like 1st quarter we will be fine.
Its the sloppy lazy look ahead play by the 2nd stringers that was not good.
I don’t see how that FAU defense can stop UCF. Slow corners and not much pressure is recipe for disaster Especiall against a team with a potent offense. See OU game

UCF is good but they are not OU in any way shape form.

An FAU thread can not exist for 5 min with a LA Tech fan putting FAU down in a way.
FAU D was fine against Air force and the starters did not allow anything vs BC.
They were paying freshmen and walk on guys late.
Are we going to beat UCF? I do not think so, but whatever happen vs UCF we are still wayyyyyy better than LA Tech.
I hope your UCF poms poms come in on time before Friday because I know you need us lose 42-21 go after FAU and the other new C-USA programs.
Maybe you should just stay in and watch someone good LA Tech Beat in 2003 or something.

Actually, FAU corners are quite fast and are the strength of FAU defense. heck, FAU's 20 interceptions ranked FAU's D as the second highest in the FBS. And every one of those interceptions returned for 2018.
One thing for sure. I will be rooting for FAU this weekend!
