That was probably the worst first quarter of football I've ever seen by an NIU team.
Childers is still hot garbage. We have two bad long slaps that give CMU great field position. CMU misses an easy FG on one of those.
This season is the final nail in Carey's coffin.

Any MAC division win is a valuable win.
NIU isn't the worst team in the MAC (that may be reserved for CMU) and Rod Carey is unequivocally done after this season.

I think we looked a lot better after switching our QB and kicker. We are playing a load of underclassmen so far, so we should start to improve. FWIW, Kansas destroyed Ruthers on Saturday. IDK if that makes them good, but they are at the least better than the team we beat in Lawrence last season.

And Kansas ceiling is now 3-9 because they beat CMU.
Three wins would be a career high for Kansas under their present coach.

Definitely, your QB in the 2nd half was a playmaker. If he plays the whole game you probably beat us. He outperformed NIU QB Childers and that was Childers' 12th game as our starter.
