What’s funny is FIU beat them 23-10 last year.
Tulane looked awful against Wake Forest, UAB needs to win this game

Thanks for the link. That writer is trying hard to impress his readers.
Quote:After flattening Tulsa 62-28 at Yulman Stadium, the Green Wave came out flat the following week at Florida International and lost 23-10 in its most desultory performance of the season.

Tulane might be a good academic school but Ive never seen a recruit put on a hat and say "Im headed to Tulane University". Of course we are also talking about a school that voluntarily left the SEC in 1966.
Quote:Banks is not the only Tulane player with that sentiment. Wide receiver Darnell Mooney uttered almost the same words.
“We can’t just go in and be like, oh, this is a lower school than us,” he said. “We have to go against the person who’s next to us and play for ourselves. We have to have our minds ready to go all out.”
What is it with those asshats? Do they think they're some special football power? Lower school? Fritz needs to deny those players giving interviews, or at least limit the questions.
No Tulane player should have bragging rights of any kind period...
Tulane has always been considered and easy win.
Hey, they were good, once, 20 years ago.
Well, now UAB MUST beat Tulane. No other way about it.

I still think Pennington, Colclough, Poole, Chapman and Turner could have beat Tulane in 98.
They punted on 3rd down the last time we played them.
But hey, they do have more sec titles than Mississippi State
All right. Now there is some real Bulletin Board Material if I've ever seen it. If Coach Clark doesn't have the Blazers Blazin for the Green Wave, he never will. UAB absolutely has to beat Too Lame.
Hopefully UAB was already fully motivated after last week's debacle and this just adds to the fire.
Ah yes, Tulane. The team that was so talented that they were 3-6 against Rice during our combined C-USA stint. It was nice knowing that no matter how much better UH or Tulsa were compared to Rice, we could usually count on beating our little safety school down I-10
Apparently their players believe that P6 junk. Losing to Wake Forest and beating Nicholls State, doesn't exactly elevate a team's status.

My thoughts exactly. Last week's performance should be all the motivation we need, but their QB's statement did make me laugh.
You know what's funny? The moment I read this, I knew exactly what the response would be.
If we lose to UAB, we are gonna look stupid.
If we win by 1 to 7 points, we are going to look petty as hell.
There isn't a benefit to saying these things, but part of college football is that kids are going to be kids. It's all a game.

Hasn't Head Coach Fritz used the same language when describing UAB? At least that's what I understood.
Rice use to say these same things about Houston
Just say’n

Where the #$%^& is this thread about Houston CC....
Houston Fans "IT'S ALWAYS ABOUT ME" -- even when it isn't
Willie Fritz is a good coach, Tulane is a great school, and Yulman Stadium is cool...that's about all I can say about Tulane.
