Apparently it's going to be on Facebook. Road game at C-USA.

Tulane needs to play a cleaner game to win this. Dauphine also needs more touches. Despite being 1-1, this is actually a critical game.

2-2 with no bad losses is a better look than 1-3 heading back home to face Memphis.
Looking ahead, but it was just announced Monday that the Tulane @Ohio State game of 09/22 will kick-off at 3:30pm EDT and be telecast on the Big Ten Network. Urban Meyer’s first game on the sidelines since the suspension. Not gonna lie; I’m basically dreading that game. Could be 70-0 if the Buckeyes are in an especially p¡ssed-off mood.

It's a good game for player evaluation. I hope we rotate in some different guys and see who can make plays. Nobody expects anything from this game. I honestly don't get why we would play Ohio State. If we actually wanted money, why not take on a team a few pegs weaker and actually play a fun game?

We have no idea how to schedule.

You drive me crazy sometimes...are you always putting turds in the punch bowl... we should always challenge ourselves.. the way college football is.. you don’t get respect unless you play the games.. I’m looking forward to the challenge!

Tulane is being paid (reportedly) $1.5m to do this. I’m guessing the mid-range teams in B1G/SEC wouldn’t pay that much.

I support the idea of scheduling 1 game like this per season. Both for the money and also for the reasons said above — the chance to evaluate players against elite, future-NFL caliber talent, and also (if you hang tough and play a good game) to gain some respect.

Is he 100% healthy yet? Fritz mentioned that he was fighting injuries in preseason. Tulane needs to keep him upright for AAC play. I would like to see Huderson turn into a power back and take some hits away from Dauphine and Bradwell (who converred to RB really well).

IIRC Dannen did mention he is putting a stop to these games. Auburn may be the last of its kind if he holds his word.

We really don't have buy game room when you look at how we are laid out up to 2025. I love the NW, Duke, and KState series. That is what I call smarter scheduling.

This is all you need to k ow about what remains of the Tulane "fan base"., Nortweztern, Duke & Wake Forest are ok. OSU, Auburn not so much.
We're not above playing a game for a payout, and we'll never be recognised as a solid program until we beat a top ten team.
Not sure what to expect from either team really. I think we definitely have the talent to win the game, especially since we’re at home, but we looked terrible last week. If we play like that again (15 penalties for 150 yds or something like that), Tulane can play a C+ game and still win by 20.

Yall need to work your way up to beating a top 10 team. The road to being recognized as a solid program starts with repeatedly making bowls, which yall have only done once in the last 15 years. Start with that first.

A large percentage of our tiny fanbase still imagine it's 1935 and Tulane should be the king of the SEC. 03-shhhh

Alabama and Auburn =/= “mid-range” programs.

The Tulane/Ohio State contract was signed in May 2016. I honestly don’t know what the going rate was the (or is now) for “buy games”. I agree that if (say) Indiana or Purdue would’ve paid us the same amount, then I would’ve taken that deal instead of the Buckeyes.

But Indiana and Purdue don't pay that kind of money. We do home and homes with those type of programs (called Ole Miss and Miss State in the south).
Playing Ohio State is a little over the top I guess; more interesting than playing Alabama though. Hopefully Auburn is the last one of those scheduled.
And I'll be in Columbus next week for the action.
