What the actual f*ck am I watching?
Using the Daoust 'D' as inspiration.
One of the worst football weekends for this fan that I can remember.
Quote:"A number of Jets defenders said they knew what plays the Lions were going to run based on formation and Stafford hand signals. Allowed them to jump routes, get five picks" – Dan Wetzel

Maybe the years of failure has blended together, but didn't this come up in the last season or two?
Worst football weekend I can remember in a long time, and that sure is saying something.
Need to channel Tobin Rote.
I think the Matt Stafford experiment is over.
Sucked bigly. But Bronco disasters affect me far more than Lion disasters. I'm just much more of a college football fan anyhow, and I've never had even moderately high expectations for the Lions.
I turned off the NFL. They don't want my patronage, I guess.

A butt hurt snowflake sighting.

Was the final straw when they suspended a player smoking pot for more games than the player for beating his wife?

Or the blind eye they turn to rapists and abusers because they produce on the field?

Or the way coaches and players who cheat in the NCAA can jump to the NFL without penalty?

Or that they jack up prices for seats/suites/tickets out of range of the average American family?

All that and more. As for the guy who called me a 'snowflake', he can shove it where the sun don't shine.
A friend of mine, life-long Lions fan, is convinced they will not have success until Fords sell the team.

FWIW.

I'm grateful to Matt Patricia and the Lions

I now know my Sunday afternoons are free for the next four months.

I'm inclined to agree.

Can you imagine if Mike illich had bought the lions 30 years ago? They would be an entirely different franchise. The owners who are passionate about winning, and less concerned about anything else, have great teams.
I stopped following the Lions closely about 5 yrs ago, Sundays are much more enjoyable. Don't really care for the NFL in general. I did watch a little of the Panthers game this week just to check out Moton. He started a little shaky but i thought settled in nicely at LT.

He is equally convinced NFL is "rigged" so that only certain teams will win big or consistently.

Which in context of Lions doesn't make sense as Ford has been one of The League's biggest sponsors since they bought the team.

He also thinks The League favors my Packers (I was born in Green Bay) but that doesn't explain our Dark Ages of 1968-92.

That's great, I'm happy for him. He played mainly guard for us, that's a big, BIG transition.

The only thing I care about the NFL now is former Broncos-I want them to have success. Other than that, meh.
You realize WMU a year ago handled their QB better than the Lions did? No exaggeration. Just sayin'.
